I still don't know how Demetrius Byrd caught that TD...

One of the gutsiest, most insane calls in the Les Miles era, but it sure paid off. I mean, how in the hell did he make that catch?

I was In the south endzone. I’ll never forget that game. Back when not a soul left early. I swear there was over 85k ppl there at the end of that game.

was a great catch, doesn't get the credit it deserves when discussed, he was well covered and the ball was perfectly thrown as well

I was 3 or 4 rows up in the student section for that game. My all time favorite moment in Death Valley.

Same, I remember thinking he dropped the ball until I heard the crowd going nuts

I drove in from a project in Mississippi after working most of the day that Saturday, to go to the game. I made it to half time until i was too exhausted to keep my eyes open.
I got back to a buddy's house i was staying with over the weekend, and sat on his recliner. I didn't wake up until they came in from the game later that night asking "did you see that catch?" I had no clue what happened until i saw highlights the next morning.

One of the loudest moments in Death Valley ever. Everyone was shocked

could have been another classic example of boneheaded clock management by Miles if he hadn't caught it, I think there was one second left on the clock

I thought my heart was going to come out of my chest.

This is the best moment in tiger stadium for me.

Oh it was completely a dumb move by Miles that actually paid off, a lot more bad than good comes from a play like that in that situation...clock running and all

Stickem
I don't mind the play call, but to do that it took a whole play clock to run it? Had we not made it, it would have been nice to make sure we had enough time to kick the frigging FG.
Ball on Auburn 23
3rd down and 7
Basically 35-40 seconds left in the game
Score- 24 Auburn 23 LSU
You don't run the clock out completely to try a pass with your man covered tightly. You wind the clock down, call timeout, or throw it out of bounds if no timeouts and kick a 40 yard FG.
Les takes it so far down when Byrd caught it there was 2 seconds left but it ticked to 1 second shown on the clock. How close was he for running out the clock after the odds were great they miss the reception.
About 35 seconds left
Broke the huddle at 19-20 seconds
Snapped the ball with 9 seconds left, lobbed the pass and 1 second left on the clock- Glad he caught it- LOL at Les Miles

Also back when parking was not all blocked off and fricked up. I drove into town late and arrived about the middle of the first quarter. No traffic since everyone was in the stadium. I found a great empty spot in the Bernie Moore lot close to North Stadium Drive.

Nice breakdown of the play. I didn't mind the call either but as much as I blame Les for a LOT of bone headed moves, it just seemed that Flynn was playing with zero urgency and taking his own sweet time to snap the ball. Granted someone from the sideline should have been telling him how quick to snap the ball, to leave enough time for a FG etc. Lucky that it worked out or else it would have been another one of those trademark Les Miles WTF clock management losses
