You laugh but most teams dont have problems fielding an offense. We finished with a worse offense than Ole Miss and they finished 1-7 in conference

He produced the eighth best O in the SEC and it only reached that level after a 7 OT game and playing one of the worst defenses in college football in the bowl game.

Skewed. If stats from that OT game didn't count, where would the offense rank?

I think that Joe threw for 1 touchdown and 71 yards in OT.

Ole Miss has NFL talent on offense. Defense is their problem.

Most people say Sean Payton’s scheme is genius. Did you happen to catch the Carolina game in week 17? No Brees, no Kamara, no offense.

Get the hell out of here with your accurate stats and logic.
Made too much sense, distorted my own opinions, would not read again.

How bout the Dropsies? I bet LSU led the SEC in dropped passes this season.........and if you factor in all the dropped passes this season Burrow would have shattered those completion and passing yards as well.

quote:

Burrows 219 completions this season were the MOST! since Jamarcus Russell 12 years ago! That trumps BOTH Mettenbergers years, and trumps Flynn's 2007/2008 campaign.
Below quote from another thread suits this one fine.

quote:

With all the passing supposedly opening up the run, and 170 more total plays in 2018, still less total yards including passing yards.
More rush attempts, and +80ypg less,
less ypa,
less ypp,
7OTs from the 25yd line, less ppg.

You likely think less than what, the 2007 season?
No, 2015, the one that got Miles fired.

2018 offense shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as 2007 and quit trying to sugarcoat a turd.

Well, there's nothing "wrong" with any scheme, per se. Any scheme can work and has worked at some point. That's why it's being done.

That's not what the E haters say on here.

This is a stupid example........... Sure you have to have talent... But you can argue scheme allday... Its EXECUTION of said scheme is what matters most.....

Some of them are so simpleminded. The best thing to do is just shake your head and move on.

3/4 teams in CFP had top 5 offenses.

The team with the best defense won the title game.

The idea is to eliminate archaic concepts like talent and experience and understand that scheme is the most important thing in the game. Intangibles, talent, experience ... pfffttt

Please quit posting this garbage. The CFB Filmroom prints do-it-yourself stats from random posters.

Debunked 2 years ago as unreliable. There are NO official drop stats available from LSU, the NCAA, or the SEC.

And if you believe LSU has the second lowest drop rate, you should watch and comment on volleyball or synchronized swimming - not football. LOL !!!

Check your source - MOST (almost ALL) of the articles on CFB's main page are 4 months to 1 year old - sheesh!

Here's a link to CFB - check it out

Ok well let’s just ignore their top 4 scoring offense and top 3 total offense and pretend defense won a 44-16 game.

For reference we scored 0 vs Bama.

So maaaaaaybe a top 5 offense would help us win a NC.

The #2 defense in the country went 8-5.

So maybe having both would be nice

He didn’t saying our passing stats were skewed. He said our offensive stats were. We scored 41 points in OT alone.

That’s basically an entire second game worth of points, and it would have been our what? 3rd highest scoring on its own?

It raised our PPG by 3.15 points PPG which is a huge jump.

Between 7 OTs and Tracy being a machine and averaging just over 2 FGs a game, our PPG was pretty much padded to hell and back.

Yep scheme is the be all to end all in today's game. Talent isn't just overrated it's unnecessary in modern football.

Yep it's scheme or nothing. If you ain't scheming you ain't trying.

and seems to represent 77% of the season, and actually prior to playing against the season's worst stretch of pass D.

FilmRoom has been in the buisness of recording advanced stats since 2015, but of course posters whose tRant arrival coincides with Burrow's and carry handles like Buckeye Jeaux are legit unbiased.
