2008 Jarrett Lee taught me back in high school that it's nothing more than a game. I still won't forget sitting in great seats every week and watching grown men boo jarrett lee as an 18-year-old.

Yeah. Between that and hearing our fans yell racist remarks at Jefferson the entire 2nd half of the national championship game, it just gets kind of old. Some of our fans truly are sad.

At this point i just like to have a great time tailgating and hangout with friends and family. My only complaint now is that it takes a toll on the wallet as a college kid to travel all over to watch good teams PIIOButts.

Needless to say I'll be in Oxford this weekend to see friends and just we don't quit.

Same. Luckily, I'm still young enough to know people in basically every town in which we play, so it doesn't hurt me too badly financially.

And yeah, hopefully we play well. I actually think it's better for the team to be on the road this week. So much negativity around BR right now, and I think playing in front of another nervous, quiet crowd ready to boo after every play in Tiger Stadium would only make this team play worse.

Miles' teams usually find ways to pull one out of their asses when their backs are against the wall. If they can do that again, I'll feel really good about the finish of this season. If not, it might really be the end of Miles. It'll be interesting to see.

My best case scenario is winning out, holding on to this 2016 class, and Cam/Peveto gtfo of town as soon as possible. It doesn't look like we'll get Franks anyways, so there's legitimately no reason to keep Cam-especially since Harris is a 4 year guy anyways.

This is my 5 1/2 and final semester, but good thing Ole Miss isn't exactly Harvard. I still know a few there

We're all emotionally invested in the Tigers. The OP is just saying it's tough to maintain that given what we've experienced the last few years.

I don't blame him at all.

OP could be full of shite.

He's emotionally invested as we all are but no way he's taking off a year. You can't quit. As fans, we love LSU football and sports in general because it makes us FEEL something. Good luck if you do successfully detach.

Slippy, I understand man.I've been going since I was a wee lad in 1973. It's really harder for me now then it was 4/5 years ago. Bad back, all day commitment, better options, etc. I have this weird sense of responsibility about it, like going to an in laws wedding. I told Pimp Jr that A&M would probably be my last game with him for the foreseeable future. I'll sell my tickets next year and then give them to him the next year when he turns 16 and can drive. Time to pass on those tickets to somebody who has the energy and enthusiasm and watch the games at home. Maybe I'll get the urge down the road to start going again, who knows. Something about it now feels like a chore for me.

It is just too emotionally draining. No person should have so much of their personal happiness dependent on a game played by boys.

I tell myself this after every LSU loss, but I keep coming back the following Saturday.

Don't sell those tickets. You still get to watch the one of the best running backs in LSU history.

This right here. The game will be on youtube within a few days anyway so I'll watch the replay if we're at least competitive.

Yea, same here. I personally expected a minimum of 2 losses this year, but was excited to see what could be done with the abundance of skill position players on offense. Same shite, different season.

1/9/12 I was never more pissed in my entire lifetime. That night ended a ton of my emotional investment with LSU football.
It has gone up and down a little since then but never back to that point. After these past two weeks I am at an all time low. I'm to the point I don't even care anymore.
When Miles leaves it will probably skyrocket back up.

If you end up reading this, which I'm guessing you do, please remember that it's just a bunch of 18-22 year olds running into each other and tossing around a piece of leather. You have an emotional connection to what that team represents to you, and it's a fun escape, but you are going through emotional turmoil for watching a meaningless game over which you have no control.

U must have a boring life. I know it is hard but just go to have fun regardless of the game. If u can't do that then best to just not go.
