Coach O seems certain that he not only can but will fix whatever is wrong with his LSU Tiger team. He implies that poor play is not hurting recruiting, that’s it’s going well. Coach O had several misses before he solved it the first time only because he had E’s input on Brady. If E is gone after this season, who can or should Coach O turn to for advice?

Eventually he is going to have to figure it out on his own. A head coach shouldn't need "advice" on every major decision.

As far as poor play not hurting recruiting, that really seems to be all dependent on the recruit.
Some recruits will attribute it to coaches and so it may affect them.
Other recruits will attribute it to current players and see it as an opportunity for them to come in and shine over others.

I think Coach O will fix it...just not happening till season's end.
This current team is lost and is waaaaay beyond reaching.
It's done.
If he doesn't make SIGNIFICANT coaching changes then he will have waited too long and the ship will take on tons of water instead of being repaired.
And that will affect recruits and will lead to his downfall.

From the "know it alls" on this board, he should obviously ask The Rant.

I hope he can fix it. The difference is when he missed on Canada the athletic department was in a much better place financially. I think it would be difficult to eat Bo or E or Linehan’s contracts at this time.

every head coach is talking to other people before making a hire. just like you would talk to peolle you trust before making a major decision. what is your line of thinking on why a coach should not ask people he trust and respect for their opinion? Why should he have to figure it out in his own? That is not how any of this works.

He tried it on his own by his own admission at Ole Miss.

His best decision yet (Brady) came on recommendation of E. He went on his own with Pellini. I prefer he lets others call the shots based on history.

Moffitt
Marucci
Woodward
Pete carrol
Former players

Recommended Pelini.

I love how when a hire goes good, it was recommended by someone else. But when it’s a bad hire, it is all on O. Guess that is why he gets paid the big bucks.

The defense seems to have figured it out.
The team won't be "fixed" until Brennan is back or one of the freshmen matures. I'm betting it will be Johnson. He seemed more poised last week.

I think Orgeron will rely on both Coach Robinson and Coach E even if he’s gone, it’s going to be somebody he trusts, he will likely ask their opinion on his choice.. Just my opinion.

how many times do elite coaches have to fix terrible problems?

Doesn't that say something?

Well he did fix and build a championship team, the best ever, so I can buy this. He has this offseason to work it out
