Yeah, people saying he graded out at a 12.6 are being intellectually dishonest. That was his grade in pass pro, not overall. It’s still disgusting and cannot play in the SEC, but it completely discounts his ability to run block. Which is why he won the job. They clearly valued that more than whatever advantage Harper may give us in pass pro, (And spare me the “it’s because his dad’s a big booster”bullshite. This isn’t high school.)

But, like I said, 12.6 in pass pro from starting OL will not play in the SEC. They’re gonna have to figure something out. I said in another thread, that I don’t think Harper replacing him is the only option on the table. I think all options are. Hell, they could even move Bo to a jumbo TE and use him in some 12 personnel when we need to run the ball. But he’s not the worst guard in the history of football who should never play another snap. He may have had the worst game in pass pro for an LSU guard in recent memory. Which is clearly not sustainable. I think they work on a few different combinations in practice this week, he probably starts against A&M and they use some things to give him help and kinda hide him, Harper will get some opportunities at LG, and then if we wind up seeing any permanent changes, it will likely be against McNeese.

Is he the best option for that position?

I think judging on that first game is a little premature. Let's see how he does against TAM. Takes some a little longer to adjust to the talent of an SEC starting Dline.
