JJ won a CWS last year with primarily PM’s players.
Why didn't PM win a championship with those players?

Give him credit for recruiting Skenes & White but outside of that, what has he done?
Coached those players to one of the best offenses and seasons. Some of the other guys he brought in were huge to the success of that team. Riley Cooper could have easily been MVP of the postseason.

Les Miles won a NC with Nick Saban’s players. He never won another.
Jay has won everywhere he's been. He took Arizona to the CWS 2 times in a short amount of time. Not many have done this.
I can't believe people are giving up on him and it hasn't even been a full season. Then again people were giving up on him last year and the year before as well. I feel like he can have one bad season before people get out the pitch forks.

The players are on the field have been recruited by and Coached by Johnson. And they aren’t producing
Why were PM's players not scoring more?
Jay may have to find another pitching coach next season. We shall see.
It's sad people are this quick to turn on a coach. Really not sure what y'all realistically expected, but I expected a tough season after losing that much and facing such a brutal schedule early on. That's not excuses. It's reality. LSU had no business being ranked that highly. I always thought that and I'm not a negative fan.

I lost faith in him when he started Paul Skenes in game 1 of the regional

Guidry and Jobert both committed to LSU in 2020.
Guidry was a freshman last season dumbass. Commit my arse. None of that freaking matters until they sign ESPECIALLY with a coaching change. Jobert was at Delgado in 2021 and frankly was lucky Jay honored a commitment. He signed with JAY JOHNSON. That is a fact.

Actually, his first CWS team at Arizona was primarily recruited by Andy Garcia, the previous coach.

Why are you calling me a dumbass? That guy say that Mainieri didn’t recruit either of those guys which just isn’t true considering they both committed to Mainieri.

So did a bunch of other colleges. How do you know that Johnson didn’t recruit Guidry after Pawl was run? Do you think that Johnson didn’t watch Guidry for a year before honoring his “commitment”?
That’s why we go look at the class that was signed. That last class by Maineri was pure garbage. That is what’s killing this team. LSU had zero left handed pitchers when Johnson took over. ZERO. That’s truly remarkable.

Well no shite he kept recruiting Guidry. He was LSU’s head coach. I responded to a guy that said they weren’t recruited by Mainieri, which is false. I don’t care about any of the other bullshite you are talking about.

People need to back and look at this. LesterEarl has a thread dedicated to this. LINK It's not good and that would be your makeup of Juniors for this team. It's severely lacking.
I'm not sorry, I am giving Jay Johnson a pass on this season. This is going to be a season of growing pains and getting younger guys experience.

the guy that couldn’t break .500 in conference his last 3 seasons?
but Jay took that team to the CWS finals?
and came within 1 run of winning it?
sounds like he must be a pretty good coach to have those types of results that gets the previous coach fired/force retired.

Haha what? Guidry and Jobert both committed to LSU in 2020.
Jobert signed with Nicholls in 2020 while Paul was still here. So how good was that “commitment”?
Then transferred to Delgado while Paul was still here.
THEN committed to and signed with Jay.
Why didnt he sign with Paul both times he was available to sign while Paul was here?
Posted on 4/6/24 at 8:54 pm to Nutriaitch
not to mention the jump Jobert made between his first and second year with JJ.
he went from a super streaky guy to a consistent masher.
realistically we had a super deep and experienced team with high end talent AND program guys.
This year we’re playing Neal, Kling Milan, Larson and Jones. Thats a lot of Fr and Soph.
Lester has gone over the Jr class before.

He committed to LSU July 8th, 2020 knowing that he was going to Delgado for a year before LSU.
He wanted to be closer to his grandmother that was battling breast cancer dickhead. You have no idea what you are talking about.
