Please never venture over to the SEC rant. We have a decent rep as of now.

Easily the most talented ever. Talent wise we will never see anybody with as much potential.

Not sure if someone said this already, but the biggest issue with JR was that he relied way too much on pure talent and never learned the small details of being a great QB.

Most of us have never questioned his talent and I personally think he is head and shoulders in talent above any LSU QB to date. This is precisely the problem as he did the least with his talent and is not the most successful QB even though he had such an edge in talent.

He couldn't perform a simple out pattern properly (timing and rhythm) but could improvise and make the spectacular play look easy. If he would have put his whole game together, he would have been unstoppable, but he just never did and always fell back to talent alone. This does not usually fly in the NFL and he was badly exposed.

Lots of elite talents end up struggling in some aspects due to being allowed to skate by in one aspect or another and for him it included an on the field item.

if you look at highlights, many of his great throws were crossing routes where he could recognize where to throw the ball and zoom it into tight spaces. Timing routes and deep routes weren't his strength, in college at least. A good example was the non-PI throw to Early in the Auburn game. This is why the qb guru he worked with pre-draft told him he would have to become a more complete qb, his arm wouldn't bail him out in the NFL.

you guys are nuts. the dude was talented, but i guess none you guys get sports. mental toughness is 95% of all sports. thats why most people don't make it. flynn only had one year as a starter and jamarcus had almost 3. jesus christ guys people are going to have bad games. jamarcus may be more talented. i guess the above average arm montana and peyton have is what makes them good and not there mental toughness and there work ethic towards it. get real people.

JaMarcus should have won a title while at LSU, especially with the 3 good receivers he had to throw the ball to. In games against good teams and not the smaller schools he put up ridiculous numbers against, he struggled. That is all I'll say!

It said in that SI story. He lost his father figure (uncle) and mom just to name a few. The story said he lost 11 people close to him.

i remember him losing a few people close to him. i seem to recall him missing time during one of his seasons in oakland attending a funeral, but 11 seems high to me, though, but i guess that could be possible.

I don't know if Mett will be as good as JR but I just hope our offense gets back some of what we had when JR was here. It was great to know even if were behind by quite a bit we had the passing game to bring us back.

We made some pretty good comebacks against Ark and GA but those had a different feel than some of the ones JR spearheaded in his career. I love our team and I know running and defense wins championships...but a strong passing game sure is fun to watch! Hope we have one this year after a long dry spell.

Go rewatch the 1st quarter. If Flynn didn't fricktard around and just scored the points off the gifts that Arky gave us, then there is no 385 rushing yards to give up because Arky would've been forced to pass.

When we only got field goals out of the first couple of drives that should've resulted in TDs, I told myself we were gonna lose that game

I was at that game - a lot colder than it was supposed to be. It was closer than it should've because they were playing with a backup, but what a game and ending... classic Miles drama.

You should have come over to Kent Lowe's place, that chick that made the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders brought a bunch of her new "friends" over. Jordy has had about 15 shots and is running around the pool with a wig on.

We're waiting on Hanagriff to come back from the store. He's on a beer/liquor run and we'll be over there as soon as he gets back.
