A coach hated by the media like this. Sure, Saban had a few prominent haters but it was nothing like Kiffin.
They can stand united in their holier than thou attitude all they want, Kiffin has done nothing that every other coach in the history of the sport has done and will continue to do
What he does do is very loudly point out the hypocrisy. They boo, hiss, and seethe at this. I cannot wait until he wins a championship, it will hit like crack.

Because at the end of the day, OM isn’t really a threat to take over in the hierarchy of the league. I know they’re on a good run now but that’ll die down as soon as that 30 year old QB leaves.
I can see how Kiffin rubs people the wrong way but I think a lot of the hate comes from people knowing that he could knock some teams in the league down the totem pole if he hits his ceiling here.

It’s wild to me the amount of hate they have for him. And even casual fans just repeat the same talking points. Well he left Tennessee. So what??? He left Tennessee for USC forever ago.

And had he gone there, he would be praised. When he leaves LSU, he will be hailed as the second coming of Saban by the media, wherever he lands.

So it seems that the media has more of an LSU problem. Not a Lane problem.

Saban was not wildly popular with them until he left LSU. They were unhappy with our success under him.
