I thought that would be OBVIOUS to anyone who played basketball at any level , or even just casually followed the sport.

Jesus H. Christ, I loved the OP and had me bouncing in my chair. But damn, I have never read so many contradictory post in my life with in a discussion. Does anyone on here really know what the frick they are talking about?

Are we discussing sending a man to Mars?

Tall and slender, Wade looks young enough to still be a graduate assistant at Clemson, where he got his start in 2005, after serving as a student manager for former Tigers coach Oliver Purnell.

From a news piece when he was at VCU. So which is it, because if he is indeed around 6'4 then I basically have to call BS on the OP. If you are going to come out with a topic as in detailed as you did then you have to nail it on all topics, sorry!

TAF's new offices are just about done. That's the building being built on the corner of Skip Bertman Drive and Nicholson. Once it's done, TAF moves out of the PMAC.

The guy is NOT 6-4. I'm 6-3 and I'm taller than he is. Unless I've grown several inches I don't know about.

Man, what a tough job he has in front of him. He basically has to rebuild this program from scratch. I hope he'll be a decent coach but I'm giving him at least two or three years before I expect to have a decent team.

The being said, I do expect the team to hustle, play defense, and ya know... run actual plays. Something JJ knew nothing about.

He has zero talent right now. His best pitch to recruits is the fact that if they go to a good school they will have to wait to play. At LSU they can get playing time quickly if they have decent talent and can learn his system.

If he is 5'9, than Joe Alleva is 5'3 tops (which he is not). You sure you met the right guy?

How are the basketball players going to get serious about lifting weights when they'd rather hit on the gymnasts or the volleyball players in there? They're going to need a facilities upgrade to handle all of that.

You're just throwing shite against the wall here, much like the rest of your thread.

I understand drinking a bit too much alcohol can affect one's depth perception, but can it also affect one's height perception???

Ehh, I would think basketball players care a lot more about the HC's personality than football players do since football roster sizes are so big that individual players don't have nearly as much personal interaction with their HC as what a basketball player would have.

I don't think that is completely true. It's hard to judge the players through the prism of Johnny Jones' coaching. I don't think it's hyperbole to say, for a much as you can relative to D-1 coaching, that Jones was the equivalent to a volunteer YMCA coach. It was clear LSU has zero plan or idea of what to do on the court. They had maybe 4 sets, but otherwise no functioning offensive philosophy. The defense was as bad as it could possibly get. There was no understanding whatsoever of how to play team defense and Jones didn't demand that the players give any effort on that side of the ball.

If Blakeney stays, he's an All-SEC talent. Sampson is far too athletic to struggle so much. He needs coaching and guidance. Maybe more than anyone else, he was just out there doing his own thing last season. Under Jones, LSU's PG is just left out there to create everything on his own rather than run an offense. Mays showed he could make plays on his own. He got better and better as the season progressed. Reath is still raw, but he has enough skill where he could create some matchup problems for opposing big men.

I'm not expecting a SEC title or even a top 5-6 finish next season. However, it will be interesting to see how these guys look under someone who will demand they actually play organized high-level college basketball vs. a coach who was basically Will Ferrell in that soccer movie

Yeah, you make a good point. Zero talent is an exaggeration. We have some players with potential and it will interesting to see what WW can do with them.

Jenkins had already burned his redshirt. Sitting him out last season was not an option. He spent three years in junior college.

9. The facilities do suck and need to be fixed. There is no coach's office in the PMAC and they have to walk over to the athletic administration building, which is stupid - when a kid completely sucks in practice and Wade wants to sit him down, he can't just bring him into the office and do it, he has to walk him around the PMAC and across the street and it's ridiculous. Also ridiculous is the weight room, which they share with the Olympic sports. How are the basketball players going to get serious about lifting weights when they'd rather hit on the gymnasts or the volleyball players in there? They're going to need a facilities upgrade to handle all of that

How the frick was none of this addressed when they built the practice facility? Did monkey's design and build this place?

The OP made a big deal about how small wade was. If he made that up he could easily make the rest of it up.
