I too think this is the case. I think Ed is a broken man after his wife's infidelity (supposedly with an LSU training staff member - I have mt sauces, even up here)
She was really the power behind him and her betrayal left him as hopeless as when he was alcohol bound.

There was no “power” behind O. He had Brady and Aranda and Burrow, CEH, Jamar, Marshall, Jefferson, Moss, Queen, K’lavon, Delpit, Fulton, Jacolby, Stingley, Cushenberry.
I could win a championship with that team by simply letting Brady and Aranda coach and not messing with the team.
