You beat the crap out of Oregon in Arlington, you go to Morgantown and dominate. Then you own the SEC part of your schedule (like that’s an easy task). Just frustrated LSU didn’t finish the season #1. When the year was over we beat the Cotton, Orange, Rose (and BCS) bowl winners.

2019 was great, I was there. I still think about 2011 a lot, and I don’t think I’m the only one.

Yep, it sucked, but the process definitely named the best team as National Champs, so we just have to suck it up.

sure, Alabama going 1-1 at home and a neutral field definitely makes them the better team.

Don’t need them to win the SEC to know that

It was such a fun season! Followed by the worst ending ever. That National Championship loss somehow over shadowed an absolutely amazing season.

2011 would have been the better season, and a legit Greatest Season Ever. Not sure they could handle 2019's offense, but the actual season accomplishments were much more impressive.

Lost in the moaning about the BCS rematch, was how strong the defense played in that game. They were constantly under heavy pressure, and kept it within 2 scores into the 4th quarter. If we could only have made a big play, I think momentum would have flipped and we win. You see that a lot; a team dominates a game against a good team, but squanders chances to put it away, and it comes back to bite them in the arse.

The main reason I attended the 2020 Natty was because I attended the 2012 Natty as well. I still wonder if Gregg Williams was feeding all that info to Kirby Smart. Had to cover up the dogshite Les left in my head from that day.

Until that last game…It had 2019 vibes except flip it w/ the Defense being the GOAT. What always irks me about this season is the fact that Oklahoma State lost that game vs Iowa St that they were a five touchdown favorite over I think? in the week before there was a plane crash that killed some people in the OK St athletic department. It was a very tough week for their program and Iowa st took advantage. At the end of the game, Ok St kicks the field goal to win that literally missed by inches. Inches! If that goes in (or if this plane doesn’t go down) Ok st is most likely in the NCG, and we would’ve totally beat up on Oklahoma State that year.

Best coach not best team, A Miles vs. Saban rematch was never going to end another way. Miles running 100 toss dives and short side options into a 10 man front of future NFL players.

I shared a post that year that makes a heavy argument as to why OK State should have been in the game even with the loss to Iowa St.

5 top 25 wins, won their conference, and only loss was on the road.

Compared to Bama, 1 Top 25 win, didn’t win Sec or even West, and a loss at Home.

The dreaded eye ball test won the day. That’s when I realized that college football how turned into a beauty contest instead of rewarding what you did on the field. Damn shame that LSU got jammed with the rematch.

Reminds of FSU V FLORIDA in 1996. Rematch seems to always favor the team that lost in first matchup.

Honestly, 2011 just reminds me of the 2012 reg season game against Bama that ended with the Yeldon screen pass TD. We could’ve Exercised some major demons that day. But let it slip away. That was almost more heartbreaking than the 2011 national championship.

It’s okay to think about what would have been.

Hell, without that win, we are still second in titles since 2000.

Losing championships will happen. Granted it was just a flop.

2023 might haunt you as well. Had we had a top 60 defense……

We should claim the championship.

We had better wins than Bama and were 1-1 against them with a win on the road

Also, Oklahoma State should have been in the championship over Bama. Media people used this to promote the Playoff idea

I blame T Boone Pickens for not dropping some cash to promote his guys. We all knew it was going to be a popularity contest after that Iowa St loss.

The "process" was fundamentally flawed. It tried to pair the two "best" teams in a last game. That should never be the goal. Rather, it should always be to determine the single best team to the exclusion of the most number of other teams - on the field, not in some committee's mind.

I've come to the conclusion if you win the national title in 2011 then 2019 never happens.

Les was already given a lot of leeway with his one national title, if he wins in 2011 it's considered one of the greatest seasons ever.

But he would have never been fired mid season in 2016 with a national title on 2011 combined with his success in 12 and 13.

So O would have never been the interim and never considered for the full time job.

Let me remind everyone about Joe Burrow:

Jimbo, Herman, Saban, everyone except for Ed Orgeron and Luke Fickel passed.

Also Jamar chases dad said he was never going to play for Les after Les told him he'd be a better DB than WR. Who knows with that but the burrow thing is an absolute in my mind.

Joe was going to LSU or Cincinnati.

I hate 2011s ending but I trade it for 2019 every day of the week.

TLDR: 2011 natty means Les never fired midsession so O never becomes interim and Joe Burrow never comes to LSU.

What a bunch of pu$$ies!!

Boo-hoo. Real men move on.

Why don't you soy boys form a support group and meet monthly for tears and lattes at a local Starbucks?
