The offense looked like shite in the spring game. What exactly has been disrupted?

My hope for Brennan is the only thing keeping that from being a true statement

Wrong. Maybe your opinion but there are those who thought it could very well happen - losing two this year. Jeaux is our 2018 QB...he just happens to be a transfer with three years in CFB and two years left instead of TR FR just out of HS QB.

Is what it is. LN does not want to wait JM still on team technically but that situation can change any moment. JB stays healthy we are more than fine. If not, MB better man up and be ready to take the punishment of the SEC. If those above don't happen we were doomed from the start anyway. Season can't get here fast enough LOL!

It is not orthodox and not ideal. But if transfers work then great. It ain't weird if it works.

They are few and far between. Acting otherwise is just plain false.

It doesn’t work. They transfer for a reason.

You don’t build championship teams through the transfer market. You can supplement them with transfers but relying on transfers to be your QB is a bandaid fix. This is the kind of shite that could really set LSU back.

More reps for Burrow

The good news in all this. Dude better be ready, this was step one.

I'm just thankful no more threads suggesting McMillan may start vs Miami

Speaking of Jimbo, what happened to his team last year when his no 1 QB went down?

Sure, go ahead and believe our longtime TE coach is the hidden guru we've been waiting for (hint - he's been on the same staff that couldn't help a QB for years).

You do realize our " tight ends coach" was a starting QB at LSU for three years and has been successful in coaching QBs and as an offensive coordinator at other schools. His role has not been specifically to develop quarterbacks at LSU.

However, as offensive coordinator after Cam was fired in 2016 the offense was very good and at times explosive during his time as interim coordinator. If he had any influence on QB development in 2016 and 2017 then he deserves credit for turning Danny Etling into a draftable QB by the most dominant NFL franchise in the last 15 years.

Give the man a chance and lets see how things turn out.

That’s just part of sports now but I guess LN saw the writing on the wall and decided to go somewhere else now instead of later I can’t blame him you don’t get better by not getting reps I hope he does good wherever he goes

I am happy we are going to give one QB the starters reps, that needed to happen. Just you want these things handled in a way that doesn't resemble a train wreck, every time. If we were going to lose 50% of the QB's could've done that the day we signed Joe. Saban still has both of his studs.

I’ve been upset since 0 became our head coach, but actually I’m more apathetic now than upset.

We’re fast approaching being dependent on a Transfer/JUCO route with future QB’s and that is a scary proposition

I'm not concerned about signing QBs off the waiver wire...um, I mean...transfers. In the recent past, they've (Etling & Mett) been more successful that the ones we've recruited (Jefferson, Harris, et al). Not ideal, but not the end of the world. The state of CFB today is such that half of the 4 & 5 star QBs don't stay at their original school anyway. Look at free agency in the NFL, QBs are constantly moving from team to team. Its a new era we have to accept it.

I went back and checked. Our QB recruits since 2005 that have stayed 4 years of eligibility that were not transfers: Jarrett Lee Jordan Jefferson Jimmy Welker (walk on) Russell Shepard (position change) TC McCartney (redshirt + 3 years) Caleb Lewis (redshirt + 3 years) Brad Kragthorpe (walk on)

NONE drafted!

Transfers:
Zach Mettenberger
Danny Etling

BOTH drafted!

Checking in on the NOT upset side

Agreed.
Narcisse was recruited largely on his potential as he has a small body of actual work in competition his last two HS years. His ceiling is pure conjecture.
McMillan, should he decide to leave, was not highly recruited.
It's unfortunate that we potentially only have two scholarship quarterbacks but that's the result of years of ineptitude at recruiting and developing quarterbacks and running a run heavy scheme. That's the LSU "Brand" under Miles and Orgeron is his short time has not been able to overcome it.
I wish Narcisse the best but I highly doubt he had much of a future at LSU or a P5 school.

well to be honest. Lowell never played in a college game so even if he didn't transfer we would be in the same boat.
