1. Family legacy
2. Post-football life in LA tainted
3. Jenkins leaving
4. He’d be in the rotation next year with a senior year to shine left

There’s more to this story.

At the very least, he can return punts.

I almost typed that whole sentence with a straight face.

He’s arguably 4th in line for catches.

Boutte
Nabers
Taylor
Bech

Kid wants to go somewhere that allows him to be 1st or 2nd option. Can’t blame him.

Yeah, pretty much caught me off guard as well. His best friend is poised to be the starting qb in the not-too-distant future.

It was always his dream to play for LSU. I guess he wants to go somewhere and get more playing time and a chance to shine for the next level.

A ton of talent in the WR room means limited reps. And if Daniels remains the starter then that means even more limited reps in a limited offense. It was a no-brainer.

Too small for TE, not talented enough to break through the WR depth chart.

I think it boils down to a plethora of talent and he that he wants to play. He's good enough to get on the field somewhere that's a solid program.

Maybe he realized he isn’t good enough to get significant playing time.

He can go back to Lafayette, show out for two years and be a Day 3 pick.

But his time here is done

This is a big year for him. He hasn’t been able to stay healthy for any significant amount of time.

It would sure be nice to. Amateur hour going to him twice on key 3rd downs.

1. Boutte, Nabers, and Thomas are all coming back. That probably puts Bech 4th in line (at best) based upon what we saw this year. In fact, Lacy got significantly more meaningful targets as well.

2. Bech is not an outside "burner". He's more of a physical inside WR. LSU seemed to show a preference for their TE in those spots.

3. This season wasn't exactly 2019 with two guys being able to get 75+ catches. Nabers was No. 1 at 63. Boutte was No. 2 with 48 (which seems like the quietest 48 catches in the history of football). Thus, Bech probably felt he was looking at one more year (at least) of very limited opportunity

4. While this will probably change, 2 of LSU's top 5 rated recruits are WRs.

In short, he saw a crowded room with (likely) limited opportunity. So he's choosing to go somewhere else with more opportunity. I know it was a different coaching staff, but after Boutte got hurt last season Bech became the No.1 WR in terms of catches/targets. It's probably tough to accept such a reduced role going forward.
