re: I don’t think enough has been said about Nuss’ throw to Anderson

I’m going to be downvoted to smithereens but it was not a great play or a great throw by the QB; it was certainly not a perfect throw, which would have been caught over the shoulder where the defender could not have gotten within two feet of it. Also, it was single coverage right in front of the QB who had about 90 minutes to throw the ball.

This is the second thread you've said that about the throw and both times your take is just as bad.
From the QB view on replay he throws the ball when the WR is completely obscured by the DB and anticipates where he will be. Both announcers marveled at the throw as next level.

Earlier on the drive, on third and 10, Nuss made an incredibly agile scramble, and with a defender clawing at him from behind, leapt in the air to throw a perfect strike to Mason Taylor. That was 10 times the play this one was.
I'm not quite as down on it as you, after all it worked, but Thomas WAS wide open - much more open than Anderson - and when it's 4th and Game, you should take the better option.
That said, it's easy to armchair quarterback. WAY harder to do it in real time on the field, so 100% props to Nuss.

Glad he hit it but man the underneath route was wide open and a much safer throw. Under had lots of room to run too.
Because I don’t know how to post images…

Jesus Christ....it takes all to make the world go round I guess. Holy shite what a bad take. Why post all those words, just say,
"I don't like Whitey".....because that is all it can be there. That was a phenomenal throw, and when you factor in the entire situation, game on the line, playoffs on the line....what an idiotic take.

He already has more TD passes than Burrow and Daniels i
People forget, both were projected middle to late rounds, if not undrafted going into their final year. People are wanting to compare Nuss to the finished product of JB and JD, which isn't fair at all. Burrow was similar in that 2018 was his first year starting, but JD had started at least 30 games going into 2022, albeit not at LSU. Experience matters, and Nuss is gaining it weekly. If he can add the run element, watch out.

And on fourth and five with the game on the line. Sequester that vid and put it in the lore. Je-sus, I thought my heart was going to stop.
Anderson is a quick little bastard, and he's got good hands. I'm liking what I'm seeing.
Could we close the season with Ky Lacy WR1, CHilton at WR2 (I know), and AA in the slot? That's a nice corps if so.

It wasn’t a post. It was a slant. lol, try again. If he does what you say the safety picks it off or breaks it up.
I didn’t imply it was a post. You guys need to get your head out of your asses and rewatch the play from the end zone camera behind the QB. AA was headed for a gigantic open space. Had the ball been thrown over AA’s right shoulder the trailing defender could not have gotten within two feet of the ball, and the “safety over the top” would not have been in a tight camera shot. You cannot watch the camera angle from behind and still disagree with that.

You’re such a try-hard tool
That was an incredibly difficult throw with absolutely everything on the line
9/10 college QBs can’t and/or won’t make that throw

Oh no?
Please tell me how many times you’ve seen a slant route ‘dropped over the WRs head’
You’re wrong, yet you’re doubling down on your stupid opinion

Bro, WHAT??
What you’re saying defies all QB/WR logic for the play that was ran

It may be a routine throw for an NFL QB, but not for a lot of college starters. He anticipated Anderson getting separation at the break, beat the safety, and hit the spot right on time. And on 4th down with the game on the line.
It’s a little strange to try and shite on this play.

Zavion Thomas needs more touches. You can do so much more with the both of them.
He does, but he also showed his limitations as a WR when not surrounded by 3 or 4 other reliable weapons Saturday. Those drops were on tough balls, but bringing those in during big games is what makes you a WR1 or 2 in the SEC.
I would like to see him get at least two or three runs per game. We’ve seen him worked in there and he could be lethal on jet sweeps. That would make a defense think every time he goes in motion.
Thomas is also very effective on WR Screens, and they have thrown a few of those to him. I think we shifted away from a lot of the outside stuff Sat because of how focused OM was on stopping it.

The safety was to the QB’s left of the play
Start of the play, clearly lined up on the outside of the hashmark with the nickel on the inside of the hash.
You don’t know what you’re talking about.

the perfect throw would have been too far to the right
So the perfect throw would be to throw an incomplete pass and lose the game?
Dumbass.
It’s abundantly clear that they were playing man across the board with two high safety.

I don’t know how to post those looks, but post the one right after Nuss releases it, and you will see that the safety has zero shot at making a play on a ball thrown over AA’s right shoulder, which would have been the perfect throw.
What you did was to grab screen shots that deceptively show the picture you are looking for.

Oh you mean the one I posted on the OP? The one that clearly shows Anderson being bracketed?
