What a shame it took the circumstances that have occurred in order for him to get his chance. doesn't it make you wonder what could have been a year ago??? Instead of 11-2 we could have been good enough to beat Auburn and move on from there.

Kinda makes ya say, "Ummmm?" dont it.... instead of all those horrible passes and confused side line glances, but thats the past and who knows???? But a valid question none the less, Bayou... Sometimes its the adversity and the nature of the opportunities that bring out the best in a person.... Lee certainly had chances last season, and did well in several games.. but he knew JJ was right there looking over his shoulder....... I am just saying..
Remember, this is all purely speculation!! LOL

He is just managing the game. ...which is not a bad thing as some would have you believe....it is a TEAM concept and he does not have to WIN the game by himself and play outside of himself.

Also, keep in mind that Lee runs the plays given to him, he does not call the plays.

Alabama, won the NC with a QB that just managed the game as ESPN's term is now used.

It's crazy that ever since his freshman season, I've cringed everytime he has dropped back to pass.
I'm not feeling that this year. I'm actually looking forward to seeing him work.

Look, I'm not gonna lie. I held my breath everytime he dropped back, and I thought they were slinging it too much and should have run more... But JLee had a great game.

If Mett had been started and he played the exact same game as JLee, he'd be hailed as the second coming of the Messiah.

How did you feel about Flynn's chances of an NFL at the same point in his career? I don't know if Lee has the dame work ethic or confidence as Flynn but his arm is probably stronger and his release is quicker.

Honestly, I hoped he'd play in the NFL, but didn't think he would. But I'm not surprised Flynn is where he's at.

Just to clarify... I didn't make that statement, I quoted someone else and disagreed.

Chris Relf was thought of as one of the top 5 Quarterbacks in the SEC and Jarrett Lee had vasting better numbers than him in the game. Lee is a gamer this year folks and hes looking to have a good season he had a great game last night cept for that pick

Well...I guess Lee will need to complete 100% of his passes so you are not nervous anymore...it is sad that 77% completion rate is not good enough..

I like Lee but I will admit there are 5-10 throws in that game that made me shake my head.

- Obvious Quad Coverage Randle was in.
- Quick WR Screen where Odell ran into Randle trying to catch it.
- A few slants than Randle had to jump to catch.

All that is nit-picking though. He played well as did the receivers (not getting enough credit for their improved hands (1 drop on 27 throws in college is good) and their phenomenal blocking). My only complaint with Lee is his head. Body wise he can make most throws, for you ZM fans which I am too... yes Mett can make every throw and most better than Lee but he aint ready head wise.

All in all... if Lee's head stays right, like not becoming gunslinger Favre... we have a legit shot at a NC.

yeah he's going to make some dumb passes, but i think the play that is the defining one is when the MSU CB jumped the screen, lee waited, and then completed the pass. he had full awareness of what was going on, and due to that we avoided a pick 6

This.

I think his best play of the night. Things may be slowing down for him.

What a difference a year makes. This LSU offense is actually fun to watch. LSU really does have receivers that can catch and running backs that actually run. Was it the OC or was it the QB, who cares. LSU has an Offense to geaux with the Defense. Fun time to be Tiger!!!

Just stop, dude.

Lee played a great game. Who cares what the frick JJ would or would not have done? JJ is not our QB.
