I don’t get it. LSU is consensus the #1 team in country.

So why are we talking about or listening to jabber that LSU is not getting a top 8 seed?
If we win 1 or 2 games in the SEC tourney… or win the whole damn thing. Why wouldn’t we be the #1 overall seed?

We’re probably sitting in the 7 slot right now and probably can’t do much to move down, but a win over Auburn in the SECT would possibly help us move up.

LSU is #7 in the KPI and #8 in the RPI. If they out perform Georgia and Auburn in Hoover they could move up to around #5 National seed. Right now I’ve seen 2 projections with them at #7.

You throw out RPI when discussing a team that went 19-11 in the SEC and won seven series. The RPI can be manipulated by factors that don't result in playing a more challenging schedule.

as baseball has become more competitive, they have taken to the NCAA basketball model when selecting the field. It is a lot tougher to determine who the best teams are than it used to be. RPI, SOS, and even NET now.

we are projected as 7th seed now. its closer than people want to admit.
