That’s why you don’t hire a coach from Murray State. The last 3 hires (Womens basketball, baseball and football) came from programs that were in the National Championship mix the last several years.

Feel free to pile on to coach MC when he gets an entire off season to get the portal guys he wants and if they suck like this next year, have at it.
Hard to really judge him when he pretty much didn't have anything to work with and had to band-aid it together in weeks.

No, when a PG that has been with him for 3 years and transferred here to play with him, walks off mid season, that’s a sign of a bad situation in the locker room. That and the lack of competitiveness, lack of innovation on offense, and a sub standard recruiting class so far are very concerning.

That’s not needed in college basketball. Hell, Calipari turns over his team every season. 2 recruiting cycles is enough to know if he’ll be able to put out a competitive team.

Do you not see the difference in those three sports and where LSU basketball was last year?
Women’s basketball has like 4 good teams in the whole country so it’s easy to be great fast plus Mulkey is from Louisiana.
Football just won a national championships in 2019 and has major recruiting advantages.
Baseball is the premier program in the country and had a ton of talent on the team already.
Basketball is facing down some sort of punishment from the NCAA and hasn’t never had sustained success in 30 years. What top power 5 coach was leaving to come to LSU?

You clearly haven’t paid attention to recent decisions coming out of the IARP. They aren’t handing out those kind of punishments. Also, if the rumor about Wade not getting a show cause are true, then chances are LSU will get very little.
Stop listening to the dumbass talking heads actually look at some of the facts, such as what was in the NOA, what information the NCAA had to support the NOA, and how the IARP has been interpreting the bylaws.
What do you call the last 5 years at LSU? If that is not sustained success, then please explain what is.

He has a free ride this season.. he’s probably not putting much effort into it becuz he knew with this team and late additions it’s a wash..probably half the players here this year won’t be a part of the LSU basketball team next year.. problem is he doesn’t appear to be much of a recruiter to get SEC caliber players to compete in the SEC conference ..the thing in his favor is he has a 4mil dollar contract he can use added to the NIL fund..LoL…cheating is legal and cool these days .. good luck to him…

I think he’s in over his head at this moment, but coaches grow into jobs all the time. He needs more time, but he HAS to do a better job recruiting and kill it in the portal this off-season or it won’t matter how much he improves.

I don’t think anyone, including Nate Oates or Calipari for example could have come in and cleaned up the mess he inherited after the dismissal of Will Wade. Not one player on the roster, and the basketball player portal is not as deep as the football player portal is. Instant gratification for the train wreck he came into is ridiculous.
