Didn’t Blackwell get injured, have surgery...didn’t take care of the wound, got infected bad, gained like 100lbs and never play again?

Les is a fricking clown, so glad to be rid of him

Whoever thinks that Les Miles was a good coach either doesn’t know chit about football, delusional, blind, retarded or all of the above.

I recall LSU having a pretty effective offense under Lee until Blackwell and company shite the bed at Tuscaloosa.
Its always the players fault.
Its never the fault of the top man making millions of dollars.
Wonder why we signed such a lazy bumpkin.

He should have blocked in that 2011 game

That would be Dave Wenstadt.
Mikes choked away two games that 07 season.

quote:Please explain. It looks fairly straightforward at the ESPN link I provided. The 1st play of the 4th quarter was a Kenny Hilliard rush. The next 9 plays were rushes. I suppose you are just saying the JJ rushes were scrambles on pass plays? If so, I suppose that's at least fair-ish, although I do not know the detail of all of those plays.
You still got it wrong. Not close.

It's simple. I remember saying to myself in the fourth quarter that Saban made Miles quit.

Compare that to the 2011 Alabama defense.
Why don’t you do the research, eh? I’ve already asked you to do it for Bama’s offense that year, and then you can compare that to LSU’s defense.
Again, those guys either made it to the NFL or got a look in the NFL. THE OFFENSE WAS NOT DEVOID OF TALENT! Entire point of my posts. It was scheme, not players.

I see people berating Lee in this thread. The kid was a senior, and it was clear the team needed a shot in the arm. Lee started warming up in the second half and had he come in, the entire atmosphere of the Dome would have changed. It could have created a spark and given him an opportunity at redemption. But Les never gave him that opportunity. That burns me to this day, especially for Lee. When Jefferson came back outa after that I knew nothing was changing.

They were still one of the most efficient offenses in the country until they took Lee out.
They don't beat Bama without Jordan Jefferson and his ability to run.

We didn't throw a pass in the fourth quarter until 6+ minutes left. This was the single worst coaching job I've ever seen.
6 passing plays for -14 yards and a turnover
A good coach would have looked at these numbers and passed more amirite
The problem isn’t that Miles ruined your prom. The problem is that you made this your prom.

The fact that Les Miles lost 2 games with the 2006 roster and then again with the 2007 roster tells you everything you need to know about him as a coach.

I still say one day we'll find out some crazy explanation for this.
Can’t figure out why Stoops chose not to have a successful passing game. Gotta be some crazy explanation.

You do if you are intelligent and recognize that your starter is totally and completely ineffectual. The 2012 NC was the most predictable, least creative, worst offensive gameplan I have ever witnessed. Miles and his staff deserve infinite condemnation for that abomination.

He honestly thought he could win with the old gameplan.

Considering the circumstances it doesn't seem too inappropriate to me for the players to say "hey coach, we're getting our rear ends handed to us out there, maybe we should try and switch things up."
