if Ole Miss is “the second team in Mississippi,” then ECU is the fourth or fifth in North Carolina.

Godwin would be a better hire than Bianco.

Vitello

I was all in on Vitello until I saw that walkoff celebration after beating the 4 seed.

That was god-awful punk shite and I’m not about a coach who encourages going that far.

This is really disingenuous. Like calling Auburn the second team in Alabama in football with no other context. It is still a top program with serious talent.

Ole Miss is a very good baseball program with great support and he gets really strong talent there. He has fallen on his face way too many times when he shouldn't have.

According to what I’ve read, Godwin is a hard-nosed competitor with attitude and his teams emulate him. That’s something LSU baseball can use.

I still think it’s McDonnell, but I’d be fine with Godwin.

If Bianco is announced, consider me melting.

The gap isn't that wide anymore man. Do we have advantages over OM? Yes but many of them have been mitigated by the NCAAs continued fricking with the sport. Its not like football where the blue bloods can just far out resource the little guys and stockpile talent.

Yes Bianco built OM into a decent program from the ground up basically. OM has also given him a good amount of resources to build it and they've pulled in highly ranked recruiting classes....He still only has 1 appearance in Omaha, that's on him.

this is a sorry excuse. you’re upset over a team celebrating hitting a walk-off grand slam?

You’d be on the opposite side of the fence if LSU did it.

It’s called swagger.

I think McDonell and Godwin are the top tier choices and have been all along.

Im not upset about it, and I like baseball celebrations, but UT acts ridiculous and that celebration wa way over the top for me

The get off my lawn over celebration complainer guy is one of the worst guys you can be. You do something good celebrate it have a good time. If you are the other team and don’t want them to do that. Stop them from doing the good thing.

On face value, I agree. The only way to give him a pass on that is the fact that he is building something, and needs that excitement to get that wheel rolling.

I still like Vitello, but you guys are convincing me about Godwin.

Vitello/McDonnel (how is this spelled?)/Godwin. Win/win/win for LSU.

I like a coaches chance winning a football NC at LSU better than Auburn.

I agree you should be able to celebrate, but I guarantee that every single person has a line of what they think is douchey/obnoxious, even you

TN crosses the line into douchey for me

It’s a program that has essentially been dead for almost 20 years and are just celebrating winning a regional and being able to host a super. It’s not douche man. Is their coach a douche? Sure as hell looks like it. But he’s living out his dream of being a college baseball coach and seemingly building a pedigree program again over at Tennessee. I think it’s great for the sport. If you’re too soft, don’t watch it.

To be fair, this is not the first time Tennessee has been mentioned in some sort of “classless” behavior.

Paul Mainieri made comments about it.

Dave Van Horn got into it with the coach following the series. Don’t forget Vitello coached for Van Horn.

Then you add in the over the top celebration following the Wright State game.

That smoke is going to start a fire soon.

Second team in Mississippi is still arguably a top 10 program in all of college baseball.

So yes, it is disingenuous to say it the way you did. LSU is an easier place to win, but it isn't a big gap.

Correct and they would not support Godwin simply because they did not get their way.
