I know lsu has had down periods and we had a lot of opt outs/transfers but that game was a total dumpster fire. It felt a little surreal actually.

But the game experience was also unlike any other. Not many people even clapping as the band came out, etc.

Time to get back to real lsu football.

Officially in the Kelly era now and excited to see what the next few years bring

Don’t sweat it bro. K-State was playing like it was their national championship. Going against the Mighty LSU Tigers was their only claim to fame. We played like a team that didn’t give a frick and why would we? K-State is so far down the ladder from the hierarchy of college football pecking order it was no more than a spring game for us.

I’m getting a Kirklin jersey and wearing it proudly.

I can't remember the specific season, but it was a day game in tiger stadium.

Spurrier/florida came in and beat us by like 50 fricking points in the pouring arse rain. We had seats on the 50. It was my first ever game watching the tigers. I was like 8.

THAT is what last night felt like.

Like Michael Bonnette told me not an hour ago. The guys that stayed, toughed it out and didnt quit on their teammates deserved to play this game.
Its all you basement dwelling armchair lazy arse bitches that said we we should not have played. Just like lots of tiger fans. Worried about the wrong thing and just thinking about yourselves
what about the boys who worked hard, played hurt, and stuck it out? dont you think they deserved this game?
ill answer that for ya..HELL YEAH
and if you dont like it you

Everybody that watched that game watched it for what it was... A walk-on WR playing QB (who hasn't played QB in five years and was recruited way back when by Les Miles) against a KState team at nearly full strength. It was basically an exhibition.

Just think - LSU could have pussed out of this one (like some other gutless SEC program we know) but didn't. I'm pretty sure anybody who watched it took the same thoughts away. I'd also rather young players get to experience a bowl game than cheat your seniors out of their last postgame like Texas 8-4fit did.

I remember that game. My last year at LSU. We sat under an overhang so stayed a little dry. Worst live game I ever attended.

Hate to say it, but real LSU football is gone. Real NCAA football is dead. Zombieball is all we got now.

Brandon Taylor made some good comments earlier today.

"Not bad to have a WR, that hasn't taken a snap @ QB in 4 years +, toss 3 TD's in a bowl game."

Pretty impressive with just a few weeks of prep.

It’s the most surreal LSU game I’ve seen. It was a bowl game against a P5 opponent. It was in Houston, where plenty of Tiger faithful reside.

I attended the Texas Bowl against Texas Tech and sat in the upper deck with thousands of others. It was a nice crowd. The crowd last night mirrored games where the weather was brutal or we played McNeese or someone like that.

I felt bad for the players. They deserved a better send off from the fans. I can only hope that the ones who played felt like it was worth it despite the lopsided result.

I have tremendous respect for those young men. They went into battle short handed, knowing the odds were slim.

I realize the opt out culture is among us, and Covid is still keeping people away…but last night felt like a HS game.

In the mid to late 80s... rained from 100 different directions. Steve Walsh was Miami QB.

Yep, couldn’t see the field from the student section. Don’t remember the score, just remember the weather and the students that stayed until the end.

They deserved better from their team mates that quit on them and left them to go out with no chance of winning.

this is an interesting read...

Fournette said it was O's idea that he sat out the bowl game vs. Louisville, when a similar scenario happened. we fired out coach (Miles) mid-season and O took over. I don't recall 30+ kids missing that bowl game, but we did have 1 very important player not suit up.

There are too many bowl games. Yes, it’s great for schools who look up to 6-6 records, but it’s not entertaining to watch great programs in a transitional year scrape to eek out an obligatory performance.

At least the bowl tie-ins kept it from being a game against Old Dominion or some other program that many didn’t even know played football.

I hate to tell y'all talking about this "rain in Tiger Stadium," but...it never rains in Tiger Stadium. Was it maybe a bad dream?

Terrible take. There were a ton of guys out there that cared. They wanted to win. For some, it was the biggest stage they’ve played on.
