I agree with this. Most of what I know about Scott Woodward's actions are the head coach hirings. Hit on Johnson and Mulkey...missed on Kelly and McMahon. Baseball and women's basketball seem to be set so I will be judging Ausberry on the football hire and I'm guessing a basketball hire after this next season.

What does someone like him mean? If he is a bad guy he shouldn’t have a job in the first place.

I'm good with giving Verge the reins. Give the man a shot.
If he sucks, fire him, but he is tenured. He should be able to transition the department.
I don't feel this is rocket science, as long as he has a strong grip on business side of Athletics.

Well, maybe I am mistaken. Did not Rousse say he "removed the interim label" or some such? I do not know how else to interpret that other than Ausberry is now the AD. Maybe he is walking it back due to feedback from boosters et al?

Why not? They have been fine with him for the last 40 years.
