We go to sunbelt, schedule a couple sec weaklings each year and finish 12-0 every year with guaranteed playoffs!! ND of the South and new media darling!! The goal is the playoffs every year right??

That would NEVER happen. Even hypothetically. To get the best players, a team has to belong to a power 5 conference.

First, we're not getting thrown out. Second, do fans really have no idea how much revenue LSU would lose in any other conference but the SEC or B1G?

Journalist to SEC or SEC member school unnamed source: "Are you considering seeking the enforcement of potential sanctions against schools, like LSU, who allow players to participate in violation of the SEC rules?"
Source: "Yes. We are considering all potential penalties and sanctions."
Journalist: "Would that include making LSU forfeit every game since 1990, paying a fine of $3,000,0000,000, forcing Lane Kiffin to be locked up on Angola on game day and/or kicking LSU out of the league?"
Source: "Without getting into specifics, we are considering all potential penalties and sanctions."
Journalist then writes and article stating: "SEC considering making LSU forfeit every game since 1990, paying a fine of $3,000,0000,000, forcing Lane Kiffin to be locked up on Angola on game day", and kicking LSU out of the league!"
No one actually confirmed those penalties were being considered. But from the journalist's perspective when asked no one specifically said they WERE NOT. Therefor, the journalist can report the SEC is considering them..even if there is no proof whatsoever they are.
Bottom line: You don't hate journalist and the media enough.

Yall do realize we need them as well right. LSU benefits greatly by being in the SEC and regardless of whats said Thursday, LSU isnt risking that. Alot of it will be based on the judges language and demeanor directed at the SEC in terms of retaliation towards the teams that sign and play the players. But LSU needs the SEC to financially compete.
LSU received approximately $72.4 million from the SEC for 2024–25.
The SEC payout includes TV agreements, CFP and bowl revenue, the SEC Championship Game, SEC basketball tournament, and NCAA championship revenue, so there is not a publicly announced figure saying LSU received exactly $X solely from SEC television revenue.

Just ask Tulane how leaving the SEC worked out for them. You're not going to go to the Sunbelt and just be as successful. Now there would be the ACC and Big 12 knocking down the door to get us in their conference but we would still lose a lot of $ by leaving.
But heres the thing the SEC, Big 12, B1G, and ACC are all going to go away soon. And there is going to be a different leauge that only consists of the top 40-50 programs and become basically the NFL-Minor League with a CBA and everything so there is that.

I see the B1G and SEC splitting off. Not the other conferences. That's why the SEC is looking to regulate this pro player issue. They have to demonstrate governance.
And yes, I see CBA in the future also.
