I’ll give him 10% just for getting Crews and Morgan here, even though the staff is most recruiting.

He deserves some credit even if at minimum for deciding to step away and let someone else lead the team. He could have easily chosen to coach another year if he wanted. Contrary to what the rant thinks Woodward was not fire CPM after this season.

No doubt tv and radio will bring it up deserved or not .

Recruiting was part of his job decription. He deserves his paycheck which he earned. It's not his team anymore. He's a fan now and he'll celebrate like the rest of us. I'll make sure to chest bump him if we go to Omaha, for you.

Equivalent to Saban's fingerprints on 2007 NC

I will take the 2022 opening day roster and give Mainieri the percentage of players that he recruited.
Then take 50 percent of Recruitment's development for 2022 season.
so if a 35 man roster exists opening day and 20 players are still around from Mainieri, I will give paul 57 percent credit. Then, development will be split between Mainieri and Jay Johnson.
2022 wins SEC, SEC Tourney, Or makes Omaha: Mainieri will get (.57)* (.50) = 29 % credit for post season accomplishments.

How much credit do we give Smoke for Paul’s in 09?
Posted on 7/15/21 at 4:52 pm to ehidal1
0.0 since none of Smokes players were on the roster.

Deserves a lot more than he will receive.

Dear god let Pawl go. Only thing Pawl will receive if we win it all is a damn good laughing at because he couldn’t do it in 13 years.

On the flip side you could argue they could leave if they did not line the new coach so maybe it is all about him now with the transfer portal making it so easy to leave.
Nice he landed them but the really do not have to stay.

ALL - because he retired

Some. That is all. Some.

I will definitely give Paul credit. He and the staff did a nice job of putting the roster in a position to succeed quickly. With that said, and it remains to be seen how it truly plays out, Johnson will deserve all of the credit for re-recruiting vets, working the commits, working the portal/juco ranks, developing, adjusting, and pretty much everything else that goes into winning a 'ship.
So, basically, thanks to Paul and his staff for not leaving the program in shambles. Thanks to Johnson for grabbing the bull by the horns and running with it. We are still 0-0 with 0 'ships under Jay Johnson, though. Time will truly tell.

Let it be.
He has come through with incredible grace.
Let it be, let it be and let it be.
Have some decency and let it be.

Interestingly, Saban got a lot of credit for the 2007 championship as I recall.
