You're delusional. The extra 9k fans you suggest for two additional games a year will never ever pay for the cost of the expansion. If anything, they will downsize and add more suites.

Additionally, while it would be be very expensive on the front end, renovating the dorms that are left into Game Day or Game Weekend condos would be unparalleled in the sports world, both college and professional, and would provide much bigger profits overtime.

Those were torn down over a year ago. That's where the proposed beer garden would go iirc

Great blanket statement, bruh!

LSU could sell out a 111k capacity stadium for:

Alabama
Georgia
Florida
Auburn
Tennessee
Texas (2019)
USC (someday)
Ohio State (someday)

There was no reason for an SEZ Upper Deck. You could easily call someone delusional for bringing this topic up, yet it exists today.

It won’t happen. People at LSU acknowledge in private that the last expansion was a mistake. The next thing that they’ll be doing is taking out seats if anything. This isn’t just a LSU problem, a lot of major schools are starting to realize that their stadiums are to big.

But this was a hell of a bump.

This is what needs to happen. Remove the benches and install seats. You could also have more comfortable seats in the premium spots. I think this would help keep people around for the second half...

all the stadiums in this conference have more bleachers than chairbacks. And I'm pretty sure the OP has said in the past that LSU has more chairback seating than any school in the conference

I think now only Arkansas's Reynolds Razorback Stadium might have more than Tiger Stadium. UT's Neyland Stadium will be potentially adding a lot of chair back seating after they are done with the latest round of renovations.

You're off base here. The SEZ was all about premium seating expansion. The turnover on the existing suites was very, very low. There was demand for premium seating and premium amenities.

When LSU turned the 1,500+ general seats into The Skyline Club, the SEZ expansion became 100% premium seating.

The East and South dorms were cleared and abated. Only the South dorms were demolished. There are dorms that remain around the stadium.

There's a difference between attendance and capacity.

I agree. I think college football is peaking or has peaked as a live witnessed event. maybe some big games could sell more seats than we currently have but not enough to justify the millions to expand.

going to a game now is a huge hassle and is very expensive. few games are played at Tiger Stadium worth that hassle or cost. add lousy concessions and the fricked up tail gate situation (ditto parking) and the fact that many of the younger set aren't sold on live football in person the future just doesn't seem to support any expansion at all.

frankly, LSU football isn't as much fun for me as it used to be. sure, age is one of the reasons but not even close to being the most important one. imo, the only way attending games resurges is TV blackouts and i'm damn sure not in favor of that.

There is certainly no need for additional seats, but I am in favor of building symmetry, so I would like to see the NEZ enclosed with an upper structure, perhaps a combination of massive replay screens and some kind of colosseum arcade cladding to match the original architecture, with perhaps some observational skyways or breezeways on the interior to connect the two lateral upper decks.

As for the PMAC, I am in favor of demolishing it and building a modern arena. The PMAC is irreparably dated.

Replace all lower bowl with chair backs it would reduce total capacity but give better experience
Plus lower bowl would ALWAYS be full
