You bastards should give him specifics. I wish I could make the game or I'd invite those Dawgs myself, so sorry to cast the first stone. Saying "just walk around campus" isn't very helpful to people who have never been here before.
Correct. If you go southeast of the stadium, you will pass a lot of great tailgates and head over towards the RVs. If you go southwest of the stadium you will pass a lot of great tailgates and head to a great bar called walkons. I guess that's more south. Southwest would be more towards Alex box stadium. The greatest college baseball stadium in the world. If you go northwest from the stadium you will be going towards the track field. The field in front of the track and natitorium is a bunch of great tailgating. More for binge drinkers. There usually is an octobong that they raise up to see who can funnel the fastest. If you go up north of the stadium you will see mike's habitat. Northeast of the stadium you will pass a lot of great tailgates. Indian mound and such. Id come here about an hour and a half before the game and watch the MFGBFTL march in.
Short version, go look at the stadium. Walk any direction and you will see people tailgating. Tell them how cool their setup is and that you've never seen anything like it and I guarantee you will be fed and/or offered some drinks. You can't not have a good time tailgating at LSU unless you are a Bama fan this year.

Thanks for this. Very helpful. Can't wait to do it up right on Saturday. Just hope to be (mostly) able to stand at kickoff.

agree with bomb...things not to miss:
-eat at the chimes (north side of campus)
-get to campus as early as you can manage...tailgates will crank up pretty good by mid morning and you need to get parked before the traffic kicks up
-watch the football team and then the golden band from tigerland come down victory hill - you can find the gameday schedule on lsusports.net
-there is usually a band playing around the stadium starting about mid afternoon
head down to walkons off nicholson to rest your feet, soak up some ac, and watch a few games...
-stop by any tailgate, ask a few questions about the culture, and prepare to enjoy yourself...
-I would stay away from theparade grounds, as there are some drunk assholes in that area that can ruin your day
-if you want some authentic cajun cuisine near campus (but not walking distance) try parrains...it is my lunch time stop every game day...
-if you didn't bring some cool clothes, go and buy some, as the weather last weekend was comparable to a sauna...
-since you are starting early and outside all day, pace yourself...drink a bottle of water every so often so you don't get too dehydrated...
you are in for the time of your life...

We're doing a tailgate on lot J with Tigers and huskies and I am cooking a Pastalaya. Look up the area on Lsu parking map and look for a mix of folks hanging under pop up tents with a big arse black pot going. I'll feed u dawgs!

"Pastalaya" implies pasta with jambalaya. What do you put in that?

This. If you have a good sense of humor when getting "Tiger Bait"-ed, you'll probably be invited to eat and drink

Yeah, I get that. Just wondering what type of pasta, i.e. rotini, cannelloni, macaroni, etc.
Also, do you still put in the rice, or does the pasta act as a rice substitute?
Either way I'd take a few tiger baits to get some.

Pastalaya contains the same ingredients as jambalaya, except you replace the rice with any form of pasta you like. I like to use corkscrew pasta. Penne isn't bad, but it fills the pot up so damn fast.
Any good pastalaya should contain chicken, pork, sausage, onion, bell pepper, green onion (celery is optional)and of course the pasta.

He said it right, Best baseball stadium in the country. Arky and SC are good but not the best. Take off the Tulane glasses

Kell's Irish Pub was a great time till it ran out of beer that Friday afternoon around 2. The poor waitresses were skulldragged by noon & they had to call in the rest of the day's shift to finish the day/evening. They couldn't believe that LSU fans were standing in line to open up at 10:30 am. But very friendly folks & it is a great Irish pub!
