I’d imagine we would have been a pretty appealing transfer destination for QBs during his run

Not a chance lol

Now the question is how many top guys transfer OUT under Miles and the offense?

I have a feeling he would have lost many top guys to the portal had it existed back then.

My thoughts exactly, I think the portal would have hurt LSU more than it helped because of the amount of talent he was able to recruit from HS would have eventually left for better systems. With that said, he would have done well with being able to use other teams transfers to fill obvious holes.

Would have still got recruits but once they figured out he was lying and had no intentions of changing the offense he would have lost every receiver

Meh, he couldn't ever really develop a Qb, and he didn't let qbs he didn't trust sling it, so it's possible he picks up an ace transfer upperclassman qb every couple years who came in capable of making throws and overall it's a big boost for our offense. Or maybe it leaves our qb situation a boneyard.

He wouldve gotten that elusive QB without a doubt.

The guy that sat next to me for years at the game would always say (about Miles on offense) "3rd & 9 - he has them where we wants them". When you look at it that way, everything he did made sense.

To answer the question, LSU's offensive talent would have drifted away while there would have been long lines to attend DBU. The defenses would have been legendary.

Russell Shepard would have thrown a pass. (At another school)

I can imagine he would still be a good recruiter but unfortunately with his outdated offense a lot of QBs and WRs would be transferring out imo

He'd be more interested in the female sports portals.

He probably would have done very well. But he still would have sucked as a coach. He was a very good recruiter.
He didn't suck as a coach during the era he was brought up in.

He just never made the transition to modern day football.

man Diarse got messed over so hard... he would have made a killing in the NIL era... he had his own clothing brand as a freshman in highschool that was growing in popularity that they made him shut down to be eligible for college

Diarse was not as good as his press clippings (He was La.'s Mr. Football as a Sr.)
He had good numbers at TCU (1,000 yds in two seasons), but was undrafted.
Probably not among the top 20 WRs of the Miles era.
Got his masters at TCU, so he must be pretty smart, hard working young man.

So athletic performance has nothing to do with NIL profitability?
Who knew?
