Presumably, Ole Miss will be more potent on the field and a much greater recruiting threat. For all his many failings, Kiffin did have success at FAU and can be charismatic. I dislike the fact that Ole Miss has apparently improved incrementally with this hire. There is simply no conference in CFB that even remotely compares to the SEC in terms of quality and depth. I also wonder if Kiffin's move reflects a belief that Saban is declining at last.

All that said, I still expect to whip the Rebels' arse.

John Rhys Plumlee just got that much tougher to defend.

I think he’ll create buzz, sell tickets, win a few games he shouldn’t. Definitely have an interesting few years. But do I think he’ll sustain success? History says no. I’m not worried

He won't make a blip, other than a few funny tweets.

It does effect LSU both on and off the field. Like him or not he’s a good coach and recruiter. Bit of a crazy guy who could talk or act himself out of a job. But a very good hire for them.

Honestly not having to face that Rich Rodriguez offense will make it easier.
Plumlee still has to prove he can throw the football to be effective.
He is still a couple of recruiting classes from being competitive.
Kiffin can recruit though and he would be smart to come get the players from LA that LSU passes on.

It's hard to imagine he wouldn't bolt immediately, if he has even the tiniest bit of success there.

He'll make it tougher... prolly 7-9 wins per year... and will be better at recruiting...
But he wont contend with LSU, Bama, AUB.
Kinda like an A&M now

Recruiting will certainly be hindered

Another embarrassing incident on tap for 2024, that's how. He'll get a cheerleader pregnant or get caught doing something in violation of NCAA rules within a couple of years.

Joey Freshwater will strike in Oxford, book it.

He will affect bama more than lsu. Bama has had success getting recruits out of Mississippi.

Ole Miss doesn’t really challenge LSU in terms of recruiting. They have solid offensive talent right now. If they can build a decent defense, they’ll make some noise.

He’ll get some buzz to the program and, let’s face it, he’s a solid coach and hire. He’ll have them trending in the right direction over the next 2-3 years. Back to respectable program and contending for decent bowl games.

He’ll have some upsets I’m sure, but I don’t see sustained success in competing with all of LSU, Bama, Auburn year in and year out

Kiffin to Mississippi is the perfect sh!t storm.

I can't wait to watch their program go down in a colossal fireball of probation and despair.

His brother was in the middle of the cheating, so he already knows the bagmen. Hopefully, after this and Kiffin backing out of the promise Ed made to bring him aboard Ed realizes that this guy ain’t no friend.

Hell win a few games against tough opponents for a couple years, and then some college that the national sports media historically drools over like USC, Michigan, Texas, etc. will come calling and he'll jet because Kiffin wants to be famous, not just successful.

Not really. Rich Rod’s system is great for running QBs. Kiffin will utilize him well, but I don’t believe any more so than Rich Rod.

LSU will struggle to get big time players out of Mississippi...something they have struggled to do anyway. I'm more interested to see what this does to the O and Lane friendship. They will be going head to head for recruits for the first time ever and while I'm sure Ed thinks they are good buds, friendship takes a back seat in the recruiting bloodsport. Don't think for one second Lane wouldn't "stab O in the back" if it meant beating LSU out for a big time player.

ole miss on probation within 4 years with potentially a new years day bowl to show for it. Pretty much Hugh Freeze 2.0 and I know ole mrs would take that.
