You need to use the sarcasm font or visit your relatives over 40 more often

Admittedly, most sports fans ar tech savy because so much is streamed now.

Signed, an elderly, moderately tech savvy poster.

Thanks for the info. Won't need to purchase roku but I'm grateful for the astro/youtube information.

Why would I need a roku? Cant you just slap the app on your TV?

You don't need to buy a Roku as long as you have something that can put the YouTube app on your TV. So many things can do this, not just a Roku. A lot of tvs themselves have apps. If not, a Roku, fire stick, Xbox, PlayStation, and I'm sure much more.

I remember when pong was all we had, but at least it sped up as the game went on, otherwise we’d all have become zombies.

Common theme of all kinds of games growing up, same thing over and over, but just got faster. Defender, Centipede, Galaga

Why do people keep bringing up the Youtube app as if it's free? You have to purchase Youtube TV if you want to use that. I find other avenues that don't rope me into a subscription I don't want.

But if you do want to buy Youtube TV, you don't need a Roku. Just plug an HDMI cable from your laptop to your TV, and put the TV on the appropriate HDMI input, and you just go to Youtube from your computer. Or, just watch it on your computer, if you don't mind the smaller screen.

Don't get me wrong, I have a Roku, now, because I wanted to be able to have an actual alternative to cable/satellite, and it has lots of free content. But if you don't have a Roku, you don't need to get one just to watch the games this weekend.

Because it is.

No you don't. YouTube has a stand alone app, that isn't YouTube TV.

And post like yours are why there are so many confused people. You come in so sure of yourself, but are spreading false information.

I have a Roku TV. Opened up youtube app. Searched Houston Astros Channel. At 11 am there was a link for the live feed. Clicked on it. UCLA game now streaming.

Didn't need to sign in or have a sub or anything.

You have to subscribe if you want the app, and it does not show as being free on my Roku. Youtube, itself, is free and will offer the occasional free live stream of a game, but if these games are being blacked out by MLB Network, I doubt you will be able to watch it on Youtube for free.

Some of you must have a different Roku from me, because it doesn't offer me any such options.

Dude you can say this as much as you want, but YouTube 100% has an app, and it is 100% free.

You are wrong again. It has been widely reported how you can view the games, and watching it on the YouTube app is one of the ways. Explain to me how I'm watching the UCLA game in Houston right now?
