I’ve got YouTube TV and
ESPN+, which I just found out is now called ESPN Select after ESPN unlimited was rolled out.

A buddy told me I’ll need ESPN Unlimited to watch SEC Network+ games and he doesnt think ESPN+/Select will carry any SEC events.

Is that true? OR once YouTube TV and ESPN make a new agreement, we will get that access back?

Truly an exhausting exercise just trying to watch sports.

I think select and unlimited are 2 different level of plans for the espn app. Unlimited has all the live events available, about $30 and month and select doesnt have access to all the live events but has they on demand shows, like $15 a month

Yes. ESPN+ does not carry many SEC games. I know ESPN+ did carry all the baseball postseason games so you may get that and some games where an SEC team is on the road but it's not the same thing as SEC Network+.

Not sure what the espn+/select is with the new roll out. But prior espn+ was the paid one and I didn’t have it. I had YTTV and I was able to see sec+.

Edit. Quick google search says yes that’s still the same. If your package on any of the streaming services has SEC network, you can get SEC+ on eapn app

If you have a TV/streaming plan that has access to SEC Network, or if you have ESPN Unlimited, you can get SECN+ games. But you're not going to get it with ESPN+. ESPN+ is good if you're a fan of a G5 team (minus the Mountain West) but it's not going to allow you to watch most P4 sports.

Yep…I tried to subscribe to everything I needed and still couldn’t get the intended programming half the time. One day I just canceled all of that shite.
Now, if it is only streamed and I can’t find a pirated feed, I just find something else to watch or listen to it on the radio. I enjoy listening on the radio nearly as much anyway.

I have DirecTV which offers free Disney+, this includes ESPN+ among other streaming services.

YouTube TV is eventually going to win this battle. Disney is losing $5 million per day from YTTV blackout. That’s 2 billion per year plus any add revenue they lose over decrease views. YTTV is less than 1% of google revenue. Their stock price won’t even notice any dip in YTTV revenue.

The old espn+ will not get the regular ESPN or secn channels without a live tv/streaming service. You have to get the espn unlimited to get those without a live/streaming service.

LINK

I ran across this that says YTTV is attempting to negotiate. Not sure of the validity of this though.

What ESPN and YouTubeTV are accomplishing is getting me used to doing without, and reminding me that there's lots of other more constructive things I could be doing, and maybe I won't be back.

Oh I believe they are trying to make it confusing. Especially the Disney so called bargain bundle. ESPN Unlimited includes ESPN+ but if you get it through the Disney bundle you don't get it. . And if you stick with the bundle next year it will cost you ten more dollars at least. I gave up on non sports programming and signed up for ESPN Unlimited direct from ESPN. Saved $58 a month from my YouTubeTv cost.

Just go to regular YouTube and type in the search window "LSU men's basketball live" and most of the time you can find the game streaming. I watched the women win last night and just watched the men win.

DIRECTV stream is no contract and free cancel within 14 days

You get ESPN Unlimited, Hulu and Disney plus with ads, and Peacock premium for free for as long as you keep DTV.

Price also locked for 2 years

This is something I've been wanting to do as I do not watch any other channels I've been paying for on YTTV. The whole purpose I am paying 80-90 bucks a month is to watch college sports. Primarily football and baseball.

I have a question though and forgive my ignorance. If I swapped to ESPN unlimited, would there ever be a scenario where I wouldn't be able to watch a game?
Don't they air sometimes on CBS, ABC, or maybe locally?

I've never really paid attention to the channel. As LSU has always been bookmarked as a favorite inside my YTTV app so it pops up on the home tab as soon as i would open the app.
