How surprising was it when Kevin Faulk returned for his senior season?

My cognizance kicked in only after the 1999 season. TIA

It was a different era then. Plus it hurt him as I recall. Had he left with Faneca he would’ve been a higher pick in my opinion.

We were far more shocked that faneca left early rather than Faulk stayed.
My how times have changed.

Not a shock, bigger surprise was Faneca leaving early ...worked out for both of them...

Kevin Faulk promised his parents he would graduate from LSU and he had a daughter in high school. That was important to him having a degree if football didn’t work out for him.

I remember the Twitter announcement like it was yesterday. He crafted a beautiful letter on the Notes app of his phone and took a screenshot.

He wanted his degree since he had promised his mom, that played a big part of it.

I meant he had a daughter in high school and he was raising a young daughter while in college. He knew a degree was important being a father so young.

I remember the PC, word was one staying and one going. It was a shock the way it turned out. Did it hurt Faulk? absolutely not. I think he is quite happy with his longevity and rings. Who’s to say he would have lasted 5 years if he had been drafted by someone else. Worked out for Faneca too.

It was surprising that he stayed and Faneca declared, but Faneca proved to be the right move.

Probably Faulk as well since he ended up in the prefect situation in New England.

Faulk wasn't projected to be a top 10 pick like Devin White.

I've been told if you have a daughter you have to leave early
