Great point. Is there anyone on that list that any of you would prefer over CBK? There's not for me

3 d line coaches in 3 years and should have never let Raymond go.
I can't really fault Kelly too much on the D-Line. I doubt he expected Jimmy Lindsey to get sick and basically never coach at LSU.
As for Raymond, I also don't hold too much ill will for cleaning house of everything related to the former staff. In hindsight, it was probably a mistake, but the program needed to be totally overhauled and that meant not having many holdovers from prior staff.

IMHO the 3 year expectation rule is outdated. I know that is what BK said, but NIL and the open transfer portal have completely changed college football.
Prior to the rule changes, by year 3 the majority of the players on a team were recruited by the HC and been in the system for 2-3 years. Because of that, the coaches could install their systems and create a team culture.
Now you must re-recruit your players every year and go to the transfer portal to fill any holes. For BK, the roster was so thin when he got here that he has had to rely heavily on the portal players. That makes it difficult to really establish the identity of the team. I know some teams have done a great job of continuing success but I think it is unrealistic to expect BK to re-establish a winning tradition in such a short time.

We should have hired Mel Tucker!!! He’d have all this STRAIGHT right now. We’d have nasty defense, Nuss would be running it — DAMN you Woodward.
Could have saved millions too.

Explain how we still can’t run the football in and dominate SEC DLs when we were told we were going to have one of the best OLs in the country. We don’t even have the best OL in the SEC.

There are LSU fans on here who did not like him to begin with and look for anything to put the hate on.
Absolutely.
And it is also as petty and stupid as someone who was an O pumper, so they think they have to hate the next coach just because. So fricking stupid.

Is this team closer now than they were in 2022 to competing for championships? The answer is no.
How can people with a a straight face downvote this. We made the SEC title 2 years ago and won 9 games last year We will be lucky to come close to that this year. What is the reasoning for downvoting that post?
Go back and watch the Tennessee, Texas A&M and Georgia games from 2022 and maybe you’ll understand.

Actually none of them were being considered. Those were just TD rumors and speculation. LSU never approached any of them. LSU zeroed in on Kelly and went after him. Those are all names that were thrown around on TD.

Can somebody please post Kelly's actual quote or question/response on the 3 years that all these lunatics keep referencing?
Have found all these year 3 quotes:
quote:
“We need another year of recruiting -- one more really good year on both sides of the ball, I think, puts us in a position where, I think Year 3, the consistency piece, the depth of our program, the messaging, all the things we do on a day-to-day basis, puts us in a position to compete for a championship.
"This year will be Year 2. The foundation is in place. I think there’s a really good confidence within the group. We’ve got good players. There’s some holes. There’s a little air coming out of the tire here and there. I think we’ve kind of patched most of it."
"I think Year 3 is probably the year where I’ll feel, in terms of building a program, we’ve had enough time to really put the pieces together," Kelly said
quote:
"Year 3 is a level of accountability in every program that I've taken over, that is heightened," Kelly told CBS Sports at the SEC Media Days on Monday. "There's a trust factor and an accountability level within our process that pops, if you will, and that's this year."
Beat Ole Miss and all of the above still holds true.

It’s kind of interesting that baker and raymond were on the staff when he got here and he let both of them go. I get hindsight is 20/20 but the fact remains that recruiting on defenses has been sub par.

That is the crux of the matter and it is on Woodward . Same guy that gave Jimbo the ridiculous contract
Woodward did not give Jimbo the ridiculous contract.
The ridiculous part of Jimbo's contract came after the 2020 season when the A&M Board of Regents gave him the extension. Woodward was already at LSU at that time.

Nuss is a good QB, too. He’s just not JD good. Therefore BK is exposed.
Who are these coaches that you take away their heisman qb and the team is better?
I hate our entitled and football ignorant fans.

Like winning the west with a team that just had a losing season? I swear some of you sidewalks think Kelly took over a talented roster like Miles and O.

Is a title caliber coach? Haven’t seen that from him thus far in his career
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only active head coaches with national title appearances are:
Kirby Smart
Dabo Swinney
Mack Brown
Ryan Day
Brian Kelly
Gus Malzahn
Kalen DeBoer
Sonny Dykes
