Because he’s doing this at Ole Miss. When he ends up Florida he’s going to be a big problem and have them in the discussion within 2 years. He has OM in a pretty dang good position considering it’s Ole Miss. Highly likely they’re a playoff team this season and they will whip our arse here in a few weeks unless we can put up 60.

Who has OM played? They run up the score on chumps, but against the top teams, they lose. So I ask again, what's so appealing about Kiffin?

You know who else won substantially at OM? Freeze. Look how awful he is now at AU. And spare me the BS about Freeze cheating at OM, big deal. Every coach cheats he was just dumb enough to get caught. Freeze at least beat Bama at OM. Kiffin? Not so much.

Making $10 mill a year. You can get an average coach for $5mill or less. He wasn’t brought to LSU and given that salary to be take a quarter or two every game to get his team going. He was brought to win championships. Yes, he has one. Glad for it. But let’s get more with a strong shut-down defense.

Well how many teams in the top 10 had TWO WR's drafted in the 1st round.
JD had help winning that Heisman.

Been on this train. When Nuss threw for +300 in a half against UGA, he had Nabers and BTJ on the field. Kinda makes a difference.

please explain how he has regressed. We will wait.

It’s pretty simple

2022 was BK’s best year. 2024 is TBD but it’s looking like it will be a worse year than 2023. Each year here Kelly has had declining success.

We can't say that Aranda would have done the exact same here as he's doing at Baylor. I would say that we can judge Napier's performance at Florida and say it would translate to LSU, except he might be able to recruit instate players to LSU that might not go to Florida. But is his issue recruiting or coaching?

I still would have liked to see how Tom Herman would have done at LSU, but EO was my second choice.

People seem to think it is just "the right coach," but it is really "the right coach at the right school at the right time."

Orgeron wouldn't have done the same thing at any other school.

Maybe Herman or Napier would have been successful at LSU. Maybe Kiffin would have been absolutely terrible here. We can never know that.

LSU could have brought Les back for cheap to win 9/10 games a season

Kiffin is in year 5 at OM. In his first three years he racked up 13 losses, went 8-5 overall in year 3, has never brought OM to ATL, no heisman winner, .500 in bowl games, only two winning SEC seasons, and is 1-6 against top 10 teams while there.

He’s 1-7 against teams that finished in the CFP top 10. And the 1 win came in a bowl game. tRant says bowl games are meaningless so I guess he’s actually 0-7 against top 10 teams.

Kiffin is a good coach, don’t get me wrong. But he’s not the savior some on this board make him out to be. The only reason OM have had the vaunted “10 win seasons” is that they have faced some of the softest schedules I’ve ever seen from an SEC team. It’s not just the OOC schedules either. Their permanent SECe opponent was Vanderbilt FFS.

I totally agree . My issue is the contract . If you couldn’t get the guy you wanted , then don’t throw out the monster guaranteed contract . Laugh all you want at Napier . We may not beat Florida .

Nice how you left off Lincoln Riley. We got beat by Lane kiffin and by Lincoln Riley two of the other coaches that were out there. Oh yeah, what's his record against top 25 teams. I'll wait.STFU

Not sure why the board has such a hardon for him. Would you care to explain why?

Because he's a better coach, he will buy players, and he beat us.

That’s not how it ended when Kiffin and a top 10 Ole Miss visited Tiger Stadium last time, now is it?

Don't expect poor observers with poor memories (or preferential memories) who are inadequate analysts to agree. They can't process this. And if they do. They will claim they never said what they said. Such is life to live in the midst of such persons

For one, at least they can run the score up against chumps. BK’s signature win at LSU thus far was against BAMA, which is huge, but BAMA wasn’t world beaters that season.

Ole Miss is still an arse school. Somewhere like Florida or LSU, he would be pretty dominant. And don’t say well he sucked at USC and Tennessee. That was a lifetime ago before the Saban rehab.

Can somebody please post Kelly's actual quote or question/response on the 3 years that all these lunatics keep referencing?

Seems everyone is interpreting as Kelly said we will win the title in year 3 or something.

As far as competing for title/playoff spot, this year, everything is still on the table.

His biggest downfall has been recruiting on defense. 3 d line coaches in 3 years and should have never let Raymond go. Name one guy on defense not named perkins who is a future pro. With Bo Davis and Raymond back we finally have some studs coming in 25. So maybe year 5 we will be a contender. I know we paid this guy 10 mil and in year 3 here we are. It is what it is.
