I own and wear more purple than any other male (straight or otherwise) in the Greater Philadelphia area. I pretty much wear LSU shirts, sweatshirts, etc so often that most people in Lower Bucks recognize me without knowing me. And after Bama kicks our arse every year, I double down and wear my LSU stocking hat and gloves to the mix.
ETA- and having said that, I’m currently wearing a Southern University sweatshirt I bought 15 years ago at a thrift shop in Elmira, NY!

Not nearly as often as gumps. They wear their Gump attire to places you wouldn't expect it like church services, funerals, football games not involving the gumps, family gatherings, etc.

I try to be subtle. Purple tie on some days, gold socks sometimes, purple polo with gold trim maybe the Friday before...if I wear an LSU t shirt it’s usually gray, and plain. Purple and gold are just too loud and flashy to wear on a daily basis. ...but on game day, I’m head to toe legit—every time I put on the “suit” I feel like Batman.

As long as I'm not in my FR work uniform, I'm representing LSU in some way. Alot of times I wear an LSU hat or beanie even with my work clothes.

I'm not far off from the OP. I don't feel the need in decking out head to toe when traveling either.
The worst are the LSU fans at the beach with the crocs, shorts, t-shirt, hat, tent, ice chest, and koozie.

Anytime LSU is playing and I am attending or watching.
I’ll typically cycle in an LSU polo to work once a week or so. My wife worked two seasons at the ops building so I have pretty much every article of clothing that exists from 2010-2013.
