"E" hasn't been an Offensive Coordinator in 20 years, except for the interim stint in 2016. How much input did he have in installing the offense last year or all the years when Miles was the head coach?

I don't think I've seen anyone flat out say he couldn't do it. But I have seen people, myself included, question his ability to do it. When you take into consideration the amount of time between his last job as an OC to today, I don't fault anyone for being cautious.

In all seriousness - Yes, a young proven OC would raise levels of optimism but the truth is- It doesn't matter if O continues to put his hands all over it.

We had that. Orgeron got mad at him when he wouldn’t let him call all the offensive plays. Orgeron fired him.

Coaches do make a difference, but they need talent and time.

We have some talent, and a lot of inexperience which would take time for any OC to coach em up.

I'd be more excited if we had a Guice and an Odell coming back.

O just landed the lowest ranked class in 15 years. He also fired his OC after 8 months.

To hell with Canada and his jet sweep line shifting offense. O lives or dies with E. I think E can do it.

Next year's class is shaping up to be pretty damn sweet.
You must be too used to drive throughs for quick satisfaction.

I thought this year's recruiting class was at least top 5 as of now with a good shot at top 3.

I was excited about Canada, but didnt care for it last year.Dont know how much he was held back(Haters r gonna say it was O's fault, but who knows).I'm more optimistic than I have been in several years so I would say not at all.He is a sharp football mind, and is working his arse off.

Averaged 7 ypc with the jet sweep and had absolutely huge gains with it in the Auburn and Florida game but yeah I hear you.

The offense produced at a three year low with a senior QB and an electric RB in Guice.

I’d rather a different HC.

No shite. The fan base was psyched when all 3 of these hires were made.

Just produce and if you don’t O isn’t long for the world.

I’d be more excited/optimistic if people like you would quit posting speculative and theoretical crap like this. Let’s give this dynamic young team a chance for crying out loud. Quit hand-wringing and finding new ways to complain about our football program.

Nothing I said was anything but opinion based on history. It is not theoretical, it is fact that he has not been successful.

LSU fans have thought we were getting the best OC many times before including last year. It’s never worked out mainly because you need a QB to have a good offense which we have lacked. So I feel it’s more about a QB and a guy who knows how to be efficient and move the ball calling the shots. Great offenses are remembered for who ran the offense more than the guy who called the plays.

We did fine w/Coach E before. I really belive that we are going to surprise people.

Burrows is not like Etling. Danny was a warrior and gave his all but Burrows is an entirely different critter. That kid is aggressive and looks to beat the defense during his reads and reacts accordingly. He straight up looks to take what he wants rather than take what’s given. We haven’t seen this since forever.

Moreover, our backs are much better than given credit. CEH is an amazing talent (just ask Guice) ...so is Curry. Brosette May get it together and surprise us all.

If our O Line starts punching teams in the mouth...look out. Sunday can’t get here fast enough.

Guice was his friend and mentor. He isn’t gonna say bad things. He is good. Hopefully better than we think.

Passed on Bama and Auburn OC jobs. Even if O had offered him, would never have come here. Will get a HC gig next year.

Would have been ecstatic with Freeze as OC though. Dude knows how to beat Satan.
