Being that our Olinemen are being blown off the ball, how much of this lack of physicality falls on the S&C coach? I honestly do not know and am wondering what he has to do with making this team more physical in the offseason?

Regarding the oline, I’m getting tired of zone blocking schemes.

I think it’s more scheme than strength and conditioning. Our defensive guys don’t seem to have any issues.

That’s a fair question. The oline has been lacking now for awhile. More than just this year.

Schemes can make players look explosive

Were we blaming the S&C coach for anything after the Clemson game?

There’s not much conditioning going on in season other than a couple days in the weight room.

Anybody can look good for one game. Not saying s and c is the main problem, but there might be an issue. Our offense line is always shite for the most part.

the focus on S&C on this board is bizarre. I'd argue S&C at most major football programs are all about the same. It ain't rocket science and there's no magic S&C method that we're missing out on.

All strength conditioning programs are not the same lol. Different coaches have different philosophies. They do different things. That’s not even close to correct

Flint has done a great job with every position except for OL and that very likely isn't his fault. Injuries are way down and stamina is up.

But Moffitt made them into killers and this team ain't killers.

I’ll be the first one to tell you Moffitt would run circles around Flint

But with the transfer portal, most of our team doesn’t even develop here. So it’s hard to blame someone who has been training our fat O-line for only 9 months

Yeah, I agree with that. The lack of being able to develop fully is definitely an issue. Guys coming and going all the time.

But I think that also somewhat takes some of the blame off of the position coaches. But all in all, it’s the job of the coaches to make it work.

This is kind of what I was getting at. Does the S&C set up the workouts around just strength and conditioning or does he account for the mental aspects of it all? Does he build a culture of being baddest guys on the field? Yes, technique is a huge part of it but what about 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 and you need that 1 yard, do they have the mindset of really wanting to dominate the man in front of them? To me, some of this is a culture thing. Look at what Saban and Miles did as a culture. They were going to impose their will on you and make you quit in the 4th quarter. It’s what made Burrow such a great QB because he was going to impose his will on the defense and that bled over in to the rest of the team.

Where are the animals on offense? Where are the guys that are going to line up, tell you where they’re going to run the damn football and make it happen out of sheer will? I don’t see that in Nuss, Sloan, Kelly or anyone on offense.

Our problem is pretty simple IMO…. We made an awful in-house hire at OC in order to get the #1 QB in America. It was a bad choice, and should never happen at LSU hiring an inexperienced coordinator.

To make matters worse, the OC is working with an awful OL coach. I will say the Oline coach wasn’t a bad hire in the beginning on paper, but the proof is in the pudding with now 5 years of data on the OL.

Unfortunately, these issues won’t be corrected til after the season. The best we can hope for the rest of this year is D to be elite and then to put something better than garbage together on offense and pray that the other coaches on offense step up their game, including Kelly. Our offense is still gonna be average on its best day, but it would also help a tad if Nuss started playing better.

We can still win some one-score games with The talent on offense, but we’re gonna have to generate 3-5 explosive plays a game even if we have to do it with duct tape

The silver lining of the OM game…. Defenses would be stupid to not copy that game plan against our offense. They absolutely should and will. What’s the good news there?…. THERE ARE PLAYS to be made against that defensive scheme, if our coaches can fricking figure it out. There’s a lot of space that can be easily taken if we take it.

I don’t see any problems. We rushed for 57 yards.

The Offense will score points if the line is fixed.

If you take away BKs conservative starts and the bad O Line play, Sloan is still managing to keep us in games.

I put all the blame on the sport bras they wear at practice. It has made the players soft. There has to be something else that can track their speed that doesn't make them look like a bunch of bitches like a watch.

This is all scheme and mentality related. We throw it 40 times a game, and you don’t exactly fire off the ball in pass protection. Does BK seem like the type of guy who gets players riled up and chomping at the bit to go knock someone’s head off? S&C can only do so much
