I'm not talking about 'just' great players, I'm saying guys who routinely did stuff you didn't think possible vs level of competition.

I can list 3 for LSU that I personally have seen-
Burrow 2019
Tyrann Mathieu 2011
Chris Jackson 1989
Those guys just did insane, "that doesn't happen" shite regularly.

I would add Hershel and Bo, and debating on Cam. Manziel comes close... maybe if LSU didn't dominate him he would make the cut.

Maybe it’s recency bias but Skenes did stuff I’ve never seen. Mainly it was he did it every time. I’ve seen pitchers be as dominant as him for a game or perhaps even a multi game stretch but he did it all year

Fournette hit the PlayStation hit stick button several times against Auburn. He was tossing dudes all over the field. Never seen anything like it.

Fournette was a cheat code because guys his size and power just don’t have that kinda speed.

Shaquille O’Neal was the ultimate cheat code. No one had that type of strength and size combo during his time.

This isnt' LSU, but I've seen most of the folks in this thread.

So I contribute this:
I saw Tiger Woods look Pebble Beach in the eyes when it was at its hardest in 2000 on Saturday and make it back the frick down.

Wasn't there on Sunday, but was on Saturday. Just foolish how much better he was than other people. He shot even I believe, but everyone else was completely lost.

Fournette a few games, definitely; I'd add the Ole Miss game where if you called a HB Toss Sweep, he was going to score a 70 yd TD. Every time. I watched that game and called one before the snap, because you could see the defense just wouldn't get to the line where he'd turn up, and nobody past the line would have the angle.

and Skenes is a good call- although I'd almost lean more to Skenes being grossly superior to the competition. He just overpowered guys, as compared to, say Hess, who came in with that wicked fastball that made even MLB guys say "whoa, look at that late movement".

Add Chase and Jefferson. Those who play Madden/NCAA know that there are few receivers that almost always come down with the ball. That was Chase and Jefferson.

You have to also include OBJ and Jarvis Landry. They both made several cheat code type catches while at LSU.

This is really the list for me. From their very first games at LSU you knew they were different. Jackson came in with a lot of hype...and didn't disappoint.

Mathieu had no hype. But I vividly remember watching the 2010 UNC game and saying "who in the hell is number 14?" He's all over the place.

Burrow 2019

For one season. Yes. He was every bit as dominant as Cam Newton in 2010. 2019 was a shock though given Burrow was more or less an average SEC QB in 2018. He's a testament to right guy in the exact right situation. He exploded in Brady's offense that year and has never looked back.
