Typical non-conformist BS.....

Why --- 'cause it looks pretty good on TV when the stands are covered in the same color.... and the "gold" in our uniform pants is bright and shows up much better than purple.

But - do as you want ...

As for those that said "LSU should give out shirts" ---- 92,000 X ~$5 per = $460,000 -- so find a sponsor and go for it! But for what it's worth... if there is ANOTHER half million dollars for 1 game sponsor ... I would prefer they donate that money in another way... such as phase II of the window/old dorm renovations... etc. etc. etc.

Jeebus H Christ, you people are so retarded.

Typical non-conformist

STFU about what other people do. If you want to wear gold, fricking wear gold. I am going to where the purple shirt I wear all the time, and I am not going to buy a stupid $15 dollar shirt to wear once.

1) it's wear
2) you could wear it to the gold game every year, not this 1 time
3) you're an a-hole

have you noticed that that's the only color they have in their color scheme?

Before LSU tried to "bring the magic back" in the mid 90s by encouraging fans to wear school colors, most/many LSU fans didn't even bother wearing school colors.

Look at crowd shots from the 80s or early 90s. Relatively few fans rocking the purple and gold compared to other universities that have long had color solidarity in their stadium.

Yeah, I know we have purple and gold and not just red and white or orange and white. But it was noticeable the first time I went to Florida (they have two colors) that their fanbase wears their school colors a lot more than LSU fans used to (we've stepped it up since the 80s but still not close to where other schools are).

Basically, our fans don't give a frick. They come to party and try not to pass out before the game is over. That's just the way we are. Florida fans wear school colors and get tased to death by Gainesville PD. That's who they are.

For that many yellow, one color imprint T-shirts, they would probably be able to buy them for around 4 bucks at the most. Possibly $3 depending on how bad the print shop wants the business. Plan ahead and get a couple of sponsors and it's easy to do at very little cost to the university.
