Nola will never really be a power fastball guy IMO, but he will throw strikes to balls at about 7:1!

Some of the broadcasts this year did show Nola touch 93 or 94. ESPN's have been a little slower all year.

I'll take the slower pitcher who allows 0 runs over the harder pitcher who allow 2 runs any day.

All a guy has to do is hit 100 a couple times in his career and everyone especially announcers will say "this guy throws 100"

Technically, they are correct..although a more accurate statement would be "this guy has thrown 100"

Yeah, when someone asks how much you lift, I doubt most people pick anything lower than their max.

I personally saw Nola hit 93 on the last out of a complete game against Georgia a few weeks back. I sat behind the plate next to team radar guy.

I would rather have a pitcher like Nola who has 3 pitches with great control, lots of movement on his ball and throws 90-93, rather than someone like Gray.

If you notice a lot of Cy young winners have similar stuff that Nola has. I know Verlander throws hard but he has Nola's stuff with a lot more velocity.

Interesting.

Especially considering we didn't play Georgia this year.

I heard the commentators say that he has hit up to 102 during the season.

Yup, Ive seen him touch 94 quite a few times this year. Im thinking every time we saw 91 last night, it was really 94. He's sat at 91 all year. With his movement and location, that's more than enough.

Nola kinda reminds me of Roy Halladay from a few years ago. I know Halladay throws a sinker, but he's low to mid 90's with crazy movement and perfect location. Very similar IMO.

LSU Radio said he hit 99 once, for what it's worth.

Nola pitches very similar to the way Greg Maddux did. The pinpoint location is what separates them from others.

My thoughts as well. Gray reminded me of Clemons.
