How many more players can LSU sign this year ???

Watching high school All American game and watching these declarations
I have lost count
With current signings and transfers, how many more players can LSU sign to get to the 85 scholarship limit

They are already 6 or so over the limit and will be taking in more from the portal. It will all play itself out in the Spring where quite a few will jump into the portal. They will address it again at the end of spring to get to the 85 limit. This is how it’s done now. It’s nice to finally have gotten to a point where they can now do “regular NIL recruiting” after the Ed O debacle.

As many as they want, there are no limits anymore. Just to stay at 85 scholarships. So if they find someone they want they can just tell a player to hit the road.

If there is someone they really want that also wants to come to LSU then they will make room. Plain and simple

85 is the number, scholarships are year to year. A full ride athletic scholarships are typically one-year agreements between the college and the athlete, although some are multi-year

Can a player commit & be a "walk on" but his NIL deal pays his tuition/room&board/books/fees?
This way the team stays at "85"...?

LSU is perfectly capable of keeping count. Why does it matter so much about keeping up with the real numbers from the outside? They are keeping count inside.

Just asking a simple question , so I can an idea of what LSU would be looking for next season.
Didn't think it was that big of a deal question.
Didn't know it would bring out all the " tough guy" keyboard warriors or the douchebags that feel they have down vote everything.

Nope these are guys going into the 2024 season. Some have already signed and some will sign in February, hence the declarations

LSU has had nobody in the 2024 class commit at the all-American game.
They’ve had 2 players in the 2025 class commit
They’ve had 2 players in the 2025 class commit
