You really think we make a 50 yarder on that shite field? Hell, you think we even get a chance to kick a field goal with Les and JJ's clock management?

Yep. Bad-arse kicker. All we would have needed was one more first down.. if by chance that play would have gone for 15-20 yards it's a chip shot.

I'm not saying we would have won.. but we had a great chance stolen.

I take it you weren't at that bowl game. The PAC10 refs were not for PSU, but were definetly against LSU.

Indeed he was, but that field was straight dirt at that point. It was the worst field conditions I've ever seen.

Dudes leg was magic. One of the few kickers I've ever felt absolutely certain would nail the game winner. I'm more upset about the Ole Miss game still tbh.. that was just sheer incompetence by the refs.

Didn't Penn st play on the same field?

Modern football isn't expect to play on such a shitty field. Large pieces of the turf detached from the ground is just stupid and dangerous. Conditions like that make the game a toss up and that is what it was.

That loss doesn't mean shite to me because of the conditions. On obviously PSU won, but no reason a team should feel bad about the loss.

Just my opinion

The refs should've likely called delay of game on PSU, but that didn't give the LSU OL the right to go and start dragging the PSU player by leg like he did. They called the right penalty in that situation and the only one LSU has to blame for that is themselves. PERIOD.

That is a flawed stance IMO.

1. What if the PSU player just ate up the clock and the game just ends?

2. It was obvious that the PSU player was delaying the game and should have been penalized. The refs completely screwed up that situation.

3. The LSU player finally felt if he didn't move him LSU would not have gotten in anymore plays and lost anyways. So nothing wrong with the player's logic.

There is definitely a case to be upset with the refs. Sometimes the refs do completely frick up a game changing moment.

It's not flawed at all. The refs should have called the delay, and while it would have be stupidly late may have done so after a few more seconds. That said, it should've been called immediately.

Hitt forced the officials hands by being a moron. Call him some type of hero all you want, he was a moron for doing it and it cost his team.

LSU didn't lose the game on that one play. They, as had been accustomed that season in 2009, wasted tons of time and had a horrible set of playcalls during that drive given their lack of timeouts. Fans just want a scapegoat for Miles, Crowton and JJ in that situation so they try to put all the blame on the field and refs.

LSU shot itself in the foot as usual, yet many of you refuse to accept that.

Since this has desolved into a thread about the Crap One Bowl, I'll weigh in.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I was there in person and it was one of the most miserable games I have ever been to. It was certainly the worst field that I have ever seen football at any level played on. Yes Penn State did have to play on the same field, but what you are failing to accept is that our team speed in the SEC blows the Big 10 teams' out of the water. It's been proven time and again in the bowl games over the years. That game completely took away our biggest advantage. Trindon was on the verge of breaking a long TD run probably 3-4 times and couldn't keep his feet in the swamp they were playing in. We played their game and still nearly beat them...no matter what anyone says, we were the better team, just got unlucky with the abysmal field conditions that should have never occurred.

As for Les, I don't know an exact number, but I'd be willing to bet it's not very many coaches that have a better or even equal bowl record over the last 6 years.

An argument could easily be made that the Ole Miss and PSU games weren't nearly as ridiculous clock management problems as people have made them.

The last play of the Ole Miss game was obviously designed to be the last play and JJ didn't have the arm to get it in the endzone.
The screen at the end of the PSU game was a decently calculated gamble which the refs fricked up completely by letting the PSU guy intentionally delay the game.

I know for a fact Crowton is the dumbass that caused the stupid shite that LSU did at the end of the UT game.

You can put it on Crowton if you like. I mean he's been blamed for everything else now that he's gone. Les and JJ better find them a new scapegoat this year. My guess is it will be the schedule.

Not true at all. They are very similar. Poor clock management, wasting clock, no plan. The last plays differed, sure, but the results were the same.

The hailmary and clock it weren't the issues in that game. Miles and company holding onto a timeout while wasting 20+ seconds is. Same shite happened in the Cap One bowl.

Sure you do. Just like all the other insiders on this board, right? I am sure you'll be happy to give exact details including names on how you know this for a fact. Otherwise, stop with the bullshite "I know for a fact".

I can't stand the "the field was terrible" excuse. makes you all sound like a bunch of pussies. They played on the same field as us. end of story.

In the UT game he changed the personell and fricked everything up. He was supposedly so flustered after that screw up he couldn't even call a final play after dooley's screw up.

So that's the only reason the SEC is better than the Big 10?

Because somehow the refs penalized us for trying to keep the other team players from delaying the game. and we lost by two with time running out and and getting 15 yards personal foul for pulling a man off of our QB.

AGREED...Anybody that measures LSU by that game, are in for a rude awaking.... ..that bowl should be eliminated..NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I SEEN A BOWL GAME UNDER THOSE CONDITIONS...
