Never have understood the fan sentiment on this, outside of blatant homerism. LSU lost because it couldn't stop PSU in the 4th and couldn't make a drive at the end when it had to. The field was muddy for both (regardless of what blind homers say) and the game was called sufficiently well.

PSU capitalized when it had to, LSU didn't. PSU won.

Be prepared to be called an idiot for using common sense, Shrub.

I always get pissed when I see fans of other teams make these blatant excuses for no other reason than sour grapes, no doubt we have our own blind homers. PSU deserved to win that game, LSU didn't. Since then LSU has won 11 games, people should be over it by now.

Les is in some good company with those stats

A more telling question would be: How many coaches have gone 5-1 in bowl games over the past 6 years and 2-0 in BCS bowls, 28-1 in OOC games, won at least 11 games four times, had his teams ranked in the Top 8 four times, had his team ranked in the Top 5 in winning percentage among BCS schools, and won a NC?

Wonder what company that puts LM in....

It wasn't the refs., it was the field. Worst field I have ever seen a football game on.

I think if we were kicking a feild goal it wouldnt matter about how bad our qb clock management is because again we would be kicking a feildgoal And i wouldnt doubt jasper that same year at the ole miss game he aimed for a 60 yard feild goal for some reason and missed by a few yards

What I remember about the PSU game other than the horrific conditions was:

Penn States Dline dominated the LSU Oline most of the game.

LSU recievers couldnt catch the ball.

PSU recievers made some great catches. Didnt the white guy smoke Peterson deep for a score?

LSU still had a chance at the end.

My guess is it will be the schedule.

Haha our schedule is whats going to get us in over an undefeated boise or tcu or other undefeated team with a crap schedule.

To the op. Thats a solid record. I can only think of mac brown being up there. Texas is 7-2 over the last 10 years in bowl games.
