With the amount of talent and coaching ability on that team it's pretty obvious that Jalen was the weak point

Can we wait to see what Etling does in his second year as a starter before people try to bench him? Plus he was hurt last year. Plenty of QBs have made big jumps in production in their second year. Add in the fact that he ACTUALLY has a QB coach and he has a chance, a CHANCE to be one of the best in the SEC.

Etling get knocked out n 2nd quarter of byu game. Reinjures back. The rant gets excited calls for Brennan only to see McMillan come out and throw for 300.

Matthew Stafford was alright.
Stidham is now SEC but we may want to disqualify him because he Baylored.
Chris Leak was successful but had to wait for alternating with Tebow to get the trophy.

I'm sure barring injury etlung will take 90% of the snaps. But I do hope Brennan gets some good reps in prep for '18

If Brennan replaces Etling then it's gonna be a loooong year in all likelyhood.
It would take a special talent for a true freshman to unseat the senior leader at QB.
I'm not down on Etling as a lot of others here are. I think he can lead this team to the playoffs.
But if Brennan is special, then let him have every 3rd or 4th series to prove himself. I think Etling should be the man with his leadership and toughness with Brennan waiting for his shot when needed. If Etling gets hurt during a game and Brennan brings the Tigers back for the win, then I will jump on board of being the QB over Etling.

I love Brennan. My son played against him and they are friends but I hope he isn't the starter until next year. If he starts this year that probably means bad things for this year
