How long to best Bama? How long to win the SEC? To make the playoff?

O said in his first presser that he knows the expectation to win and to win now.

With O not signing a QB is it safe to say that his job is completely dependent on the development of Myles or Lowell?

I'd say 4-5 full seasons. If we still haven't won the division by let's say 2021, I'd say it's time to go a different direction.

You have to give the guy a chance.

3 full seasons is plenty of enough time to determine the state and direction of where this program will head

hopefully it continues to head in the right direction

Its difficult to see anything year one, new coach, new philosophies, etc

We have seen coaches have solid year ones then tank, then we see some improve drastically. Year two will say a lot about us next year

By year 3 a coach will truly have 'his' players and full system, no excuses can really be made at that point IMO

1 season down. So 3-4 to go. He’s not gonna sign at QB unless he pulls a shocker and lands Foster so if Myles or Lowell doesn’t develop then it’s O’s job.

I think your timeline is fair btw. You give him 4-5 years to get his players in place and then see what he can do.

With that said- there can’t be another 30 point loss to state or any other loss to a non-P5 opponent.

I don't get this. What is the major significance of signing a 4th string QB this year. It doesnt hurt but as long as he signs one next year we will be fine.

I expect a great season next year. We should be in contention to win the SEC.

I am holding my judgement and not knocking him for this season because he did not have options at QB. He was stuck with Etling.

2018 will be a great QB battle, I expect a much, much better passing game. GEAUX TIGERS!!

He gets 3 years. One of his supposed positive attiributes was continuity.

10+ wins this year and next and beat Bama 1/2.

Same standard I would hold any other coach to.

The minute we lower our standards, our program dies.

No QB excuses either,
plenty of teams play with new and freshman QB's and succeed.

LSU has some talented QB's on roster, hopefully we see someone step up next season. Development will be key, hopefully Canada has one of the two ready.

If he goes 6-2 in the SEC every year, he’ll be here a long time.

We will have 3 scholarship QBs next year, with one of them being McMillian. Presuming that you don't think he is SEC quality (I don't know that, haven't seen him play enough to draw a conclusion), is the starter is injured or suspended/ineligible then you are down to one that you trust. That doesn't work in any league and certainly not in the SEC. Got to have another to two SEC quality QBs on the roster.

With Scott transferring we didn’t sign a QB in 2 of the 3 last cycles. If you don’t understand a significance of this then you didn’t want LSU between 2007 and 2011.
