He probably actively engaged the boosters that fund the basketball program and raised the funding to help himself in recruited high schools and the transfer portal - and evaluated the talent effectively and set up roster construction to best utilize that talent.

FWIW he had the same number of players returning from the previous year's roster - three - that CMM did in his year zero.

I think some repeatedly absolve CMM for "year zero" underestimate the players who will transfer anywhere for more playing time in this portal era.

It's much different than say when Brady took over - the differences are many and obvious.

I would describe the Wade situation as more likely than not, certainly not a pipe dream.

The roster was empty when Mcmahon was hired. He was able to get three to stay:

Mwani who had a torn rotator cuff and was lost at mid season
Adam Miller returning from a major knee injury who has never regained his pre-injury status
Justice Williams whohad joined the team the previous year at mid season out of high school now with a half year of experience

He was also recruiting players with a major cloud of NCAA violations and penalties hanging over the program. Also because of the way Wade responded and all of the negative coverage from SI and others the whole program was cast in a very bad light. Portal transfers were not lining up to join that program.

Duke lost 2 starters, and won the ACC.

A&M had ZERO players returning with a first year coach. They are in the tournament.

LSU had basically the same NIL budget as UGA & Bama this year. They are both in the tournament, we are last place.

At some point, you excuse makers have to listen to what you are saying and maybe…re-evaluate your position.

All players with eligibility entered the portal and there was an empty roster. If your point is maybe a couple actually entered susequent to his hire , OK, you are correct. It still doesn't change the fact at some point shortle after he was faced with an empty roster.

Again that’s simply not true. Every single player who wasn’t named Tari Eason or wasn’t out of eligibility was still here when McMahon was hired. The portal wasn’t even open yet and zero players had announced they were leaving. You can go check the dates which have been posted for you at least a half dozen times yet you continue to lie about it. Even McMahon in his press conference said he could’ve kept more than the three he did if he needed to. Everything you’re saying is untrue.

The excuse makers are also completely dishonest which isn’t a coincidence. At some point they may have believed the excuses they were making but they’ve all been debunked with actual facts so they’re just lying now.

They probably didn't build their team with a bunch of mid major transfers that were average at a mid major.

Who gives a shite anyway? This is Year 4. We are worse off than when he arrived. I wish I lived in a world in which I kept getting paid the worse I got at my job.

He will go down as the worst coach in any sport in program history.

Wait Romney Wordsworth are you saying Duke lost 2 starters and not only didnt roll over and quit but won their conference title....that is amazing. Tigersbb told us all numerous times that was impossible. Of course they didn't lose players of the caliber of Dedan " Magic Johnson" Thomas and Jaylen "James Worthy" Reed.

I wish we could talk in person. I'd talk you off of the ledge a bit.

You and I agree on most things pertaining to LSU basketball.

I'm not guaranteeing anything, and have ZERO sources. I'm just using logic, and everything (to me at least), points to a Wade return.

We just need the wolfpack bounced ASAP!!!

Texas Tech also lost their likely ALL American and certainly best player then went on a winning binge against several good teams as well.

What tigersb doesn't grasp is that good coaches ADJUST and get the most out of their talent.

Bad coaches make excuses or have them made for them.

I didn't research the dates but the fact remains at some date close to his hire, either before or after the contract was igned the roster was empty. You can dance on the head of a fricking pin all you want but there was a point where all eligible players were in the portal.

All the eligible players went into portal because they didnt want to play for a loser with a cardboard personality and no coaching ability!

There’s only dancing from you, even admitting you don’t know the dates in question. I’m simply stating the facts. He was hired March 22nd the first guy to announce he was leaving was Miller who returned, the next guy announced 9 days later, I think it was O’Neal. The portal opened April 4th or 9th if I’m not mistaken, I could be mixing up the title game and portal dates. So everyone was here when he arrived, he met with everyone and even he said he could’ve kept more players than he did. So stop the BS, it isn’t true.
