Parents changed their flight to Houston. Left last night, currently in the air to Cali.

Also, OP. Spirit is one of te worst airlines for IRROPS as they usually only fly one frequency a day. I'd look at BTR on AA or UA or try and get to houston. With days worth of cancelled flights from bot BTR and MSY they ave tons of people all trying to get out of the area.

LFT may be an option as well unless you want to stay on Spirit.

My Friday AM Southwest flight out of MSY was officially canceled via text message earlier this afternoon. Wife and I are probably going to have to cancel the trip since we're out of water and power at home and currently evacuated with the kids. Just wanted to give a heads up since I figured there are going to be a bunch of LSU fans on that flight.

Maybe I’m just a cynical piece of shite, but I knew Orleans parish and Jefferson parish would not have the airport operational at all this week, so on Sunday I changed all my flights to go out of and back to Houston. My parents finally switched their flights to go out of and back to Houston.

I truly hope all the Tiger fans are safe and can get their plans changed to make to the game with us…

Most airlines are allowing rebookings if you had travel scheduled in one of the airports impacted by the storm. You should be able to change/modify your flights with no penalty other than paying the fare difference.

I thought about doing that, but my situation with my kids just wouldn't make that feasible. I don't even think I could make this work if MSY was open. But smart move moving the flight to Houston when the storm hit. Really sucks...been planning on making this trip since the game was announced years ago.

Cancelled my Thurs evening flight out of MSY and got a flight out of BR. Instead of points used, I paid 550.00 round trip. Easy come, easy go.

Had a big group of us going some from Hammond and some from the St. Charles Parish. With all the damage everyone got it’s just not possible for us too go. I’m super bummed. This was something we were looking forward to for a long time.

I just changed my flight from MSY to Jackson MS on Thursday. It’s the best option I could do on United…at least I’ll be there.

I had a flight for Friday. I went to the travel board and they are saying MSY will not have any flight this week. I changed my flight to out of Jackson, Ms on Thursday. Sadly I am going to Chicago, not LA

Cancelled my Nola flights. Was originally on Spirit and Delta. Used Delta credit for a flight from BTR to LAX. Decided to pony up for a one way back to BTR. Will just use the Spirit voucher on another trip.

jlovel7, I'm so sorry to hear about the hard times you're going through right now. I dearly hope you can find a convenient flight to Los Angeles while the entire SE part of the state is a huge clusterfvck.
