How is everyone getting to LA since MSY Will likely be out of power?

Updated: frick it. I'm flying out of houston I'm just going to hate my life having to basically not sleep to make it happen. I will not miss the Tigers play in the Rose Bowl.
Updated: I’m trying to figure out how I can get to LA. Maybe drive to Houston and fly out there?
Everything online says it’s fine but spirit says it’s canceled. I don’t think I had Albert Einstein helping me over the phone. She was talking about if I changed the flight I’d have to pay the difference. I told her how is that possible if they’re canceling the flight and she seemed dumbfounded. Anybody else already moved flights to get to LA?

My dad was supposed to fly Spirit from MSY to LAX and they just straight up cancelled the first leg to Houston without even emailing about it. He found out by checking their website

I was booked spirit until last night. I tried to get my flight switched from MSY to Houston and they tried to charge an additional $120 when their website says no change fee for the circumstances. After a lot of arguing we got a full refund instead of a Spirit voucher. Flying southwest out of Houston Thursday morning

Looks like MSY is cancelling next day flights daily ... why doesn't BTR add additional flights to LA area?

We flew to Dallas on Sunday and modified our flight to Thursday out of Love. $124 one way on Southwest. I’m not sure how we are getting back to NOLA yet. I would think driving to Houston is your best bet as I have told my friend to do the same who just got back in Metairie today.

Why would three fricks downvote this? They are probably sitting there with their electricity on not realizing the impact or difficulty of driving six extra hours out of a hurricane stricken area. We’ve looking into rental cars all over and nothing is available, flight times and location aren’t optimal and the people taking care of our pets backed out due to issues with the storm. People can’t just change plans so easily, especially if they live in New Orleans right now. The insensitivity is bullshite.

My flight on SWA Friday evening was just canceled. No other options out of MSY Thursday-Saturday.
