Nope.

Pullman, WA is the Starkville of the PAC 10.
Corvallis is 84 miles form the Portland airport. I drove it midday and it took about 1 hour 45 minutes. It was easy.
That whole Willamette Valley is beautiful and lush and has low elevation. Mts are to the east.

Corvallis is 1½ hours south of PDX on I-5.
And bring a jacket. It gets chilly at night. Luke Johnson sez the daytime highs will be in the upper 60s.

$490 R/T out of DFW. Not terrible.

If flights to Portland and Eugene fill up, there are plenty of flights into SEA (Seattle) airport and it's less than a 4 hour drive to Corvalis from there.

47 upvotes only tell me 47 people don't know anything about Corvallis.

Maybe they're referencing the difficulty to get there. Corvallis is a little off the beaten path, as is Starkville.

So, it's WSU. Not OSU.

It'll be warmer during the day, but the heat in the Willamette Valley is nothing like the heat in the Gulf South.

When you get to Anchorage, you're 1/2 way.

Best dining experience I've ever had was at The Painted Lady in Newberg. If anyone is wine tasting and sight seeing, then check out the food scene. We stayed at The Allison for our trip, also in Newberg.

Not sure about time travel to Oregon but by bus to South Dakota took 2 days. If that helps!
