Carlos Carson nickname was Can't Catch Carson, this is because Steve had an arm and never meet a bullet he didn't throw.

Carson caught 5 for 5 TD's in the Rice game for 201 yards, in that game Charles was pulled very early. If I remember correct, Steve had 4 td pass and Woodley 1 td pass to Carlos that night.

My freshman year was his senior. Loved to watch him play.
Played pickup basketball with him one time. He knocked me down with 2 hand chest pass.

He was a great running back for the Tigers, but also was a very articulate young man. Loved watching him play.

Tearaways. Those were the shite. It was always so cool to see a back hauling arse down the field with his jersey in shreds. THAT was football.

He was Fournette with better cuts. He was fast. 6’1” 215-220. A tremendous leader as well.
Coach Mac screwed him with 9 in the box when he ran. Some of those old plays, should be used by Canada. They were slick.

Power. Speed. A poor man's version of Bo and Herschel. Seemed to break a long one every game.

My freshman year was his senior year.

All you need to know were the bumper stickers: Charlie4Heisman.

Was ahead of his time with a speed/power combination. Ran a sub-4.4 40 at 215 lbs., very rare at the time.

My favorite Tiger of all time.

Alexander was a great back. Not only that, but he seemed like a really cool guy.

I remember crossing him in Allen Hall a few times and he was always friendly to everyone. And seemed a lot bigger than 6'1" 220. He was almost as big as some of his linemen, they were a good bit smaller then than what you see today.

And for a big guy he had speed to go with power. Go to about the 6:08 mark in the video and watch him outrun the Ole Miss secondary. I remember this game watching from the student section.

ETA: RIP Hokie.

Emerged after Brad Davis and Terry Robiskie (wasn't that impressed with the latter).

Robiskie was a good back, Alexander was a great back. Really, Alexander should have started over Robiskie Terry's senior year, but Mac almost always went with the upperclassman. That year, Robiskie gained 1100 yards, Alexander over 800.
