I agree. I think they are the hardest 1-on-1s to block.

They’re just so big and strong.

LSU’s field sucks. It’s actually an embarrassment!

How windy was it? Not sure why we shut down our long passes last night.

We didn’t shut them down, Auburn did. Their strategy was to take the sidelines and the quick slants away from us, and collapse the interior pocket. It left them vulnerable to the outside run, and we gashed them with it. We had over 500 yards. The offense was very successful moving the ball; we just need to get innovative inside the 10 yard line.

Have you not watched a game in recent years? This isn’t the first time our field has looked like complete shite from a rain storm.

Also insane we let the band play on a wet field, that should not have happened.

Considering how much rain fell on it I was honestly surprised it looked as good as it did during and after play. Go look for the 1968 Philadelphia Eagles Mud Bowl, if the field looked like that we’d have a reason to complain.

Field technology has improved a lot since 1968.

The cap1 bowl vs pedo state was a terrible field. It doesn’t give our field a pass. It looked horrible, it played horrible and we let our band trounce on it. I love the band but in rain they shouldn’t be on the field.

TS is y’all and 3/4 bowled in. Lack of direct sunlight affects most of the field and becomes more prevalent when the days are shortened. Couple this with a shite load of rain and what you get is what you saw last night
That's another "Deflection" excuse for negligence in the LSUAD.

Neyland is just as tall as TS and also bowled in. Tennessee's field looked like it was the first game of the season yesterday against USC-E. Their turf was immaculate. Ever watch any Clemson highlights? Their grass field looks like artificial turf all season, as do many others.

It's not Rocket Science. You install the right type of "Shade Resistant/Tolerant" turf and hire a professional Head Turf Manager to maintain it, (Cultivation, Irrigation, Fertilization, Drainage) but this seems to be a problem at LSU because the residual Alleva "Good Ole Boy Network" is still in place.

Just because you know how to start a lawn mower and cut grass with it doesn't make you qualified to be in charge of a major University sports turf program. It's all about the man in charge.

Woodward needs to step forward and fix this. Be pro-active and hire an experienced Professional to replace Eric Fasbender. This was NOT done by Alleva a few years ago. You're now seeing the results of that and you saw it yesterday on National TV...……….

Where are all the experts that were proclaiming the field would be “just fine“?

About time to make a move towards turf. The field is in shade most of the day - very limited on turf health in the shade.

Don’t think we really had time to throw it down the field like games past.

Did in 2nd half

But, the turf definitely neutralized our strength and allowed AU to play closer to the LOS

Which team/school has the field that can have 2” of rain fall within 36 hours of game time and not be affected?
I get that the conditions are not ideal but considering all the factors I don’t know what some of you expect.
-Rain for nearly 24 hours within 36 hours of game time
-no sunlight or heat to dry the field
-the field does drain well (no standing water anywhere)
-boheemiths running, jumping, starting, stopping, colliding and falling on to the turf.

I guess I still have the question, who’s natural turf would have done any better all things being equal? And then, please explain why.

Don't bother. These are the same idiots that bitch and moan every week as we win game after game. They bitch just to be bitchy.

Next week, they'll find something else to foam at the mouth about. Probably that O is working the team too hard/little on the bye week.

God, I hate LSU's bitchmade fans.

I think having a grass home field gives you an advantage when playing away on artificial turf.

Coming from someone who has been on the field of nearly every SEC field (2009-2013), LSU's field is very nice. Maybe it's changed since then, but I doubt it's an "embarrassment".
