re: How exactly would Wade cheat at recruiting?

My opening post presented the only possibilities I could think of that would be realistic for a brand new coach to come in and cheat at LSU. As stated multiple times, I don't think Wade is cheating. Maybe somebody smarter than I (sure there are many) can enlighten me on how this cheating would be done instead of hurling insults.

Your question has been answered. LSU hired one of Nike’s up and coming coaches. Read any of the FBI documents and there is a roadmap. Will Wade is likely arranging shoe company payments to players like the other successful basketball coaches.
Unless you believe that he is such a fantastic coach that he is the lone unicorn not doing this and these players are tuning down large sums of money because of their love of LSU.

sp, finally a legitimate answer to my question. If what you say is what is going on (and it may well be) is Alleva going to be blindsided by this, or does he know what is going on and just "letting it happen?"

Just watch the movie Blue Chips.

Google "aau and college basketball recruiting". I'm too busy to do it for you.

I had to explain it twice so I’m not sure if he has access to Google.
And to answer his question, everyone knows.

I'm just going to assume that Wade's only "transgression" was pissing of some blue blood programs as the young hot shot coming in and snatching up their recruits. The UNC, Georgetown, Kansas programs of the world don't take kindly to that. The guy's enthusiasm is infectious. I'm not going to sit here and pretend that we don't probably bend the rules to an extent, but Wade strikes me as a guy that has an incredible knack of selling to players and families exactly what he's starting here and what they have to gain from coming on board. It worked for me and thousands of other LSU fans from day 1.

Guys wake the F up.
This has been going on for decades.
JaMarcus, Alley Broussard, Al Woods, Patrick Peterson, and the almighty Fournette to name a select few pulled up on campus in new vehicles with 60 day tags every season.
Alabama has a money printing machine in Tuscaloosa as does USC, Ohio State, Duke, and North Carolina. Take the blinders off, it's been goin on forever.

No shite. My point is that the old guard doesn't take kindly to new guys coming in and beating them at their own game. I don't doubt that we bend or likely break rules, but I can't get behind the notion that we're somehow more egregious in our actions than anyone else - especially when you consider the gestapo style in which our compliance office seems to operate. And Wade doesn't strike me as someone that would be flagrant in his rule bending/breaking. I think the guy is too savvy to not cross all his t's and dot all his i's.

He would cheat the same ways all the basketball coaches have cheated in years past....
Not saying he did and I would bet this is a SEC jealousy situation i.e. Kentucky, Alabama

Anybody with knowledge on how this would work?
If they did they wouldn't be posting it on a message board.

Hopefully it amounts to nothing.
Take in consideration it started with Ja'vonte Smart. He is a Louisiana kid who is right there in BR. Would it be mysterious for him to love LSU and stay home to Play?
Naz Reid has his girlfriend playing for the lady Tigers. Wouls it be mysterious for him to play for the Tigers to be near his girlfriend? Is there a rule against it?
As far as the other 2 players at least one is good friends with the first 2. So what could be so damaging I would like to know? Shoe deal? Must be those 300 dollar shoes that wear out after the first practice or it must be cool to wear them in the eyes of their women. Yea the money part could buy dozens of them.

I think my point is 1971, nobody really knows jackshit on this site (although they act like they do). I was just hoping someone had logical insight because I just can't see Wade starting his new job breaking all these recruiting rules.

If Wade cheated, I think sp hit what happened the closest. Some shoe company identifies Wade as a hot up and coming coach, lets him know when he gets a big job at one of their shoe's schools, he has a "backer" to steer these kids to his new school. Alleva, having already screwed the pooch on trent, johnny, and most importantly the shrimp boat captain, KNOWS he needs a homerun hire, and Wade is a good young coach and on the down low it is known he has a MAJOR shoe company that will steer kids to the school he goes to. Lets hope this is wrong.

It is well known by insiders (those of us that have sauces) that recruiting cheaters always reveal their techniques and cheating routines during interviews with prospective employers. They want to be sure that they are in sync with those already in place by the prospective new employer. Conflict in cheating can be disastrous so it is important to get that out of the way early in the interview process.

But other coaches can use this as negative recruiting against us. This is why it pisses me off, they have NOTHING but suspicions right now and go public about it. WTF
